WHS Region Choir Camp
Every year, we hold a free region choir camp for all of our Pirate Choir singers. The dates and times are on the graphic. There is no cost to attend this camp, but participants must register by clicking the green button below.
Please note: the region process is a bit different this year, and the first round of auditions is much earlier than in past years. Mock auditions with the WHS directors will be Aug. 26-27 during class. You MUST pass your mock audition and have all audition fees paid in order to advance to the official audition. You have three songs to learn for the first round (district audition) and it is coming up fast on September 14th.

Welcome Mr. Wisniewski!
Give a warm welcome to our new voice teacher, Mr. Wisniewski!
Ryan Wisniewski hails from Oceanside, CA and comes from a non-musical family; despite this, music has remained a big fixture in his life. It wasn’t until his sixth grade choir class that he started singing, but it was this exposure that began to pave the way towards a lifelong obsession! Finding his call as a singer, he attended University of Nevada, Las Vegas after graduating high school to study vocal performance and choral music education. He has been a proud member of the Barbershop Harmony Society since 2011 and an active performer with many of its top groups from California, including the Westminster Chorus, Masters of Harmony, and The Newfangled Four.
Although no stranger to the performing circuit, Ryan finds most of his joy as an active coach and clinician, and has had the pleasure of getting to travel across the country coaching ensembles and hosting clinics and workshops in an effort to share his fascination and love of the voice. He is a Certified Singing Judge within the Barbershop Harmony Society, as well as a graduate of the New York Vocal Coaching Voice Teacher program, studying with the likes of esteemed vocal pedagogue Mr. Justin Stoney. Outside of his experience in the barbershop, choral, and a capella worlds, he also has experience with and enjoys singing classical, jazz, southern gospel, and rock. He is eternally grateful for the opportunities that have blessed his singing journey thus far, and he wants nothing more than to give back and help others find their joy in singing the same way he has!

Volunteer for Concessions
The Wylie Choir Booster Club manages the concession stand for many of the indoor sporting events in the Montgomery Center. Proceeds from the concessions provide a major portion of funds needed to support many of the choir events throughout the year. All proceeds from concession sales go toward major events, banquet, voice scholarships, and senior scholarships.
We need our awesome choir students and their parents to volunteer to work each event to make this happen. This is a great way to meet other choir families and support our wonderful Choir program. There is an adult Stand Captain at each event to help things run smoothly. Choir students earn points each time they volunteer.
**Voice scholarship students will be announced soon, and every student who receives a scholarship is required to work the concession stand at least twice per year to pay it forward.
We prefer if our student volunteers are accompanied by a parent or adult volunteer, and all parent volunteers must have a WISD Background Check on file, completed every school year. Click here to complete the background check. Please sign up for a slot to support the Pirate Choir program!
New Calendar is Here!
Please add these dates to your family/work calendar, as we work very hard to give the dates to you as soon as possible. Major grade events are highlighted in green. Please do not schedule conflicts on major grade event days.
