FIRST HOLY COMMUNION:
Congratulations to the students in Year 4 who celebrated their First Holy Communion last Sunday. The reverence and joy that the students displayed on receiving the Body of Christ was heart-warming. Thank you to Ms Lesque for your support in preparing the students for this Sacrament, and to the parents who support the faith journey of their child.
FACTION ATHLETICS CARNIVALS
We have been gifted with beautiful weather for both parts of our Faction Carnivals (Friday, last week and Monday). It really was an extraordinary day where we witnessed a display of dedication and sportsmanship by all our students as they enthusiastically cheered on their peers. We extend our gratitude to Mr B whose exceptional organisational skills ensured an amazing day for all and, the staff who supported Mr B in his preparation of the students (and the day).
We thank the parent community for their attendance, very vocal cheering and their invaluable assistance in setting up and dismantling of the equipment at the end of the day. Very much appreciated by us all.

KIDS FOR KIDS MARKET DAY
Our annual Kids for Kids Market Day happened today. The market day is our major fundraising activity to support the Flame of Love Orphanage in the Congo. The Year 6 Social Justice Committee organise and run this day and it is truly the most anticipated day in our social calendar.
In a 2019 Pallottine Family Newsletter, Cheryl Sullivan who was visiting from the Australian branch of the UAC (Union of Catholic Apostolate) wrote:
‘The orphanage cares for 87 children of pre-school, primary and secondary age. Our Australian UAC contribution is the only regular donation that they receive. Having received a capital grant from Rotary, they now have dormitories, a laundry, dining room and a kitchen (the kitchen is only used when they can afford coal). On the day of our visit a group of young men were separating the grass from the dry beans for the children’s meal. One wonderful sight was to see the chickens, goats and rabbits that had been purchased with the money raised over the last three years by the children at Queen of Apostles School in Riverton. The eggs collected ensure one egg each day for the pre-school children. It may not sound like much but it is a wonderful source of protein’.
I think that the greatest lesson we can teach our children is that we can make a difference.
We thank families for their generous support of our fundraising endeavours. Without our very generous community, we would be unable to fulfil our Catholic mandate of assistance for the most vulnerable and in need. Thank you to Mrs Maloney and the Year 6 Social Justice Team for their enthusiasm in organising the day.

Catholic School Parents Australia
Dear Parent and Carers,
This 2024 survey is a follow up to a similar survey conducted by Catholic School Parents Australia (CSPA) in 2022, which was completed by 6,286 Australian Catholic school parents.
The parent views and experiences shared through the 2022 Parent Survey on Student Wellbeing and Learning, helped CSPA to advise the Australian Government, the National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC) and State, Territory and Diocesan Catholic Education Offices on key issues concerning parents with children and/or young people in Australian Catholic Schools. The 2022 survey clearly identified the concerns that many parents/carers have for their children’s wellbeing.
By completing the 2024 survey, you will be helping CSPA to continue reporting on existing and emerging affirmations/challenges, in relation to the wellbeing and learning of our school-aged children.
It is only by having your voice heard that you can make a difference and influence decisions. We have noticed that wellbeing is now high on the agenda for most of our school communities, for both staff and students and in many cases the wider community - this is a positive step forward for which we are most grateful.
To continue to inform the discussion please feel free to complete this current survey by clicking on the link or scanning the QR code: 2024 National Parent Survey
