NJ Tiered Systems of Supports at Kingsway
The Kingsway Regional School District is enhancing its academic and social-emotional supports through the New Jersey Tiered System of Supports (NJTSS). NJTSS is an evidence-based framework that helps ensure all students receive the instruction, social-emotional/behavioral support, and interventions they need to succeed. By using various data sources, Kingsway educators target classroom instruction more effectively and continually monitor student progress, making necessary adjustments to support both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. This approach seeks to ensure that every student receives the right support at the right time. Click here to learn more.

See Something, Do Something at KRHS
What is Anonymous Alerts?
Anonymous Alerts allows students, parents, and other school personnel to anonymously submit any sensitive or urgent student issues quickly to school officials. Students, parents, and school personnel can submit reports such as bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, hazing, drug or alcohol use during school, vaping during school, threats against the school, and more. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.
In an immediate emergency, always call 9-1-1.
Anonymous Alerts is monitored between 6:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday when school is in session. Outside of these hours, please directly contact an administrator.

SMART - Have a Purpose and Plan
Each day, we communicate to students that they must have a plan for SMART Lunch (both L1 and L2). Students have access to a SMART Weekly Schedule in order to help them plan. Students are expected to be in a location for both L1 and L2. The graphic provides the letter days that academic departments are available during SMART. Please speak with your child/children about having a plan for SMART.
Here is the SMART Weekly calendar that students are sent each week. This will help students/parents to know what clubs/activities are meeting each week as well as what teachers are available during L1 or L2.

Fall MAP Results Available
Fall 2024 MAP Student Progress Reports will be accessible in the Genesis Parent Portal this week. Look for a notification from Genesis that a new document is available.
To assist families in making sense of the MAP assessment and individual student results, a quick reference sheet, video tutorial, and additional resources are available on our Kingsway website (here). Please reach out to your student’s teacher with any questions related to course-based academic progress. Additionally, school counselors and case managers are prepared to answer MAP-related questions specific to your student.
If you require assistance accessing student documents in the Genesis Parent Portal, please review the guidance in our KRSD Genesis Parent Guide, located here.
Cell Phone Use At KRHS
The KRHS Cell Phone policy is as follows: cell phones are not be to seen or heard during class, study halls, or in bathrooms. Students may use cell phones during passing time and during SMART lunch. Each classroom displays the graphic seen here in the newsletter: OFF AND AWAY - CELL PHONES OFF AND LEARNING ON. We ask students to place cell phones in their bags during class and study hall.
Students need to be present for learning and interacting with their peers and teachers. Please support and remind students at home about our cell phone policy at school. We appreciate the team effort to help students have the best educational space to learn and grow.

Student Chromebooks: Expectations for the 2024-2025 SY
Our 1:1 Chromebook initiative supports student learning in and outside of the classroom. The district-issued device is part of each student's necessary classroom supplies, similar to a pencil, book, or paper. All students are expected to attend every class, every day prepared with a fully charged, district-issued Chromebook with the charging cord. We highly recommend designating a location in your home for the device to charge at night and to be easily placed in the student's backpack in the morning. Click here for more information related to our Chromebook expectations.
