TNette News: Summer Update

We are SO excited to welcome our "Rookie" Tallenettes to the team! They have put in the work to earn their spot on the team. We are so excited to have them join us on July 8th!!

• CutTime is the NEW official platform for the Drill Team program; both Tallenettes and Silver Stars. Many Allen Fine Arts Programs are in the process of onboarding this new platform and we are excited!
• At this point, every drill team student and one guardian has been loaded into the program, in the event that you need to change your phone number/email address, please let Mrs. Davis know!
• We will be utilizing the "event" feature as our calendar--(full onboarding of everything is still in process)
• In the meantime, please refer back to the preseason newsletter from May for a list of our big picture dates thus far

• A couple of tips and notes about CutTime:
• It is an SMS based communication platform--save the number into your phone contacts to ensure that you do not overlook it as a SPAM text (Thank you Lisa Jang for this suggestion!)
• You have the option to send the notifications to your email if preferred
• CutTime is browser based, not an app. It is recommended to "bookmark" the url in your phone for quick access!
• This is a new version that we are still learning tips and tricks with, if you come across any other helpful hints from a parent view, let us know!!

In addition, we will resume Newsletters. The links to the Newsletter will come via CutTime SMS message. Once the official school year begins we will resume weekly newsletters. When/If our season slows down, we will go bi-weekly.

All Junior Clinic Group Leads were invited to join a "group me." On 7/25 I sent out some instructions via group me: Here are instructions again:

• K-2: Co-leads-Sadie, Sarah Jang, Hannah Dixon
  
• Work together to choreograph two jazz routines

• 3-6: Co-leads-Sofia, Krista, Emmajane
  
• Work together to choreograph two jazz routines

• 6/7-11+SS: Dance O's
  
• Work together to choreograph one HH, one jazz and camp dance

• Songs must be turned into the Directors by Friday (we are happy to edit if needed, we just need to know!)
  
• Avoid "Dancing Queen"
• Camp dance song is already chosen
• Time Limits: :45-1:00

The google sheet includes groups, what to wear, schedules, etc. It is a live document that will be updated as details continue to fill in.

Please use your personal social media sites to help give us one last push for enrollment! Walk-ins are welcome although the link for registration will shut down this week.

• Handbook Meeting changed to July 22nd

July 9th-11th: Junior Clinic @ Ereckson Middle School

July 22nd : Pre-camp rehearsal 9:00-12:00: uniform distribution during this rehearsal (after rehearsal: big/little reveal, social following, details TBA by social board)

• Mandatory Handbook Meeting (All TNettes AND Silver Stars + at least one parent/guardian @ 5:30--exact room location TBA, Tallenette Booster Club Meeting at 6:30 PM)

July 23rd-25th: Team Camp @ AHS 9:00-5:00 (end time is approx, we will communicate exact dismissal times once the itinerary is finalized, bring lunch)

July 29th: Pre-season work day 9:00-2:00 (team composite photos will be included during this time--bring lunch)

July 31st: Continue holding block for possible convocation involvement

August 1st: Escadrille Photos at 4:00 in comp gym

August 2nd: Fan Fest at Watters Creek 6:00 (Logistics/Call-time to come)

August 5th: Back to School Bash-Flight School Spirit Tunnel (logistics/call-time to come)

August 7th: First Day of School--no rehearsal

August 8th: Regular Morning Rehearsals Begin

Please make sure that you are continuing to workout and work on dance technique this summer! Mrs. Davis sent out information via email on 5/29/24. Please use the form to submit your hours. Any hours above and beyond the mandatory hours will be turned in via merits sheet. Please only use this form for your 6 hours. You are required to get email addresses and signatures from each of your class teachers. Please do not sign or initial for them. Dance Hours can be accumulated from May 28th through July 22nd. They are due at the start of camp (July 23rd). Let Mrs. Davis know if you have any questions about dance hours!

Any parent who plans to come in contact with students other than their own must have a background check each year. Here is the link
