Mrs. Michels Weekly Updates
Let's make it a great week!
Weekly Updates! June 3-7
Hello Hamilton Families,
Here it is! The last week of the school year. Like every year, this year provided some ups and some downs and a whole lot of student growth. I absolutely love looking back over the year and thinking about how far our students have come from the beginning of the school year. It makes me very proud to see the the academic and social growth our students have shown. The students, staff and families have all worked very hard and it shows! Thank you for your support and dedication to our students!
Please be aware that the school playground is not a city park and is only for Hamilton Students during school hours. Younger/older siblings may not use the playground during school hours.
We still have a few yearbooks for sale in the office. Yearbooks are $20.
Our lost and found is overflowing! Please come check for things that may belong to your child. Anything left behind is donated to a local shelter.
Report cards are viewable in parent connect on 6/17. Please make sure you know how to access parent connect before that date.
We do not have a start date for next school year just yet. When that date is determined it will be emailed to all families.
Your child's teacher assignment will be viewable in Parent Connect the Wednesday before School starts. That date will also be emailed to you.
We have a number of summer enrichment opportunities for your children to help prevent that summer slide, we don't want the students to lose all they have gained!
We have partnered with several community organizations to offer our students a diverse range of exciting summer programs. These programs, from virtual academies to career exposure camps, are designed to enhance learning, foster creativity, and provide a fun-filled experience. Some of the programs include:
The Engineering Society of Detroit offers a virtual Girls in Engineering Academy program for middle school students.
Career-Tech Summer Camp will provide exposure and awareness to various careers for 3-8 grade students.
- BUSting with Learning brings literacy resources directly to elementary students, offering free books, school supplies, and engaging games and activities. The initiative travels through neighborhoods to distribute books directly to children, ensuring resources are accessible to all.
Meet Up and Eat Up Summer Meal Program
Free meals will be available this summer with Meet Up and Eat Up for children 18 years of age and under or persons up to age 26 enrolled in an educational program for the mentally or physically disabled recognized by a state or local public educational agency.
Meals will be provided Monday through Thursday. No service July 1-4, 2024. Check our website for specific times and locations.
