21st Century school libraries are not just libraries of dusty old books anymore but exciting hubs of their schools. Libraries today have technology, computer assistance, textbooks, collaborative homework areas, a teacher librarian and assistants to assist, and the libraries of today provide a safe place to hang out and relax before your next class. To this end, Chino High School offers the CTE Library Science course to students wishing to pursue opportunities and/or careers in education, librarianship, public libraries, and school libraries.
Classes are small, approximately 4 students per class, and include lab hours with hands-on experience working with patrons, improving customer service skills, and learning the inner workings of a school library.
