There are still plenty of spots in December! Please sign up using the form: CAS Lunch Volunteer Sign Up - Fall 2022. Bullying & Conflict
In normal conflict, children self-monitor their behavior. They read cues to know if lines are crossed, and then modify their behavior in response. Children guided by empathy usually realize they have hurt someone and will want to stop their negative behavior.
On the other hand, children intending to cause harm and whose behavior goes beyond normal conflict will continue their behavior even when they know it's hurting someone. However, it is important to note that even when bullying occurs, the bully is also experiencing emotional turmoil. Whether we agree with it or not, children who bully are bullying for a reason.
Next week we will discuss the most common reasons bullying occurs.
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month
Join the Madison SEPAG on Thursday, October 27th at 7:30pm as Guest Speaker Susan E. Miller, Director of the Robinowitz Education Center presents Dyslexia Identification in NJ 9.0. This presentation will go into the details of the current landscape in NJ and current research in the field of Dyslexia. This meeting will be held virtually with meeting links sent in advance. See flyer below for details.
COURTYARD READING GARDEN
Did you know that CAS has a courtyard? Unfortunately, during the COVID shutdown, our beautiful courtyard reading garden fell into disrepair. This year, the PTO will be working with the building to revitalize and rebuild this outdoor learning space for our children to enjoy. Be on the lookout for more information regarding paver sales and big fundraising efforts to make this happen!
