Millswood news:
As we celebrate Veteran's Day, I want to take a moment to recognize those who have served our country. I hope you and your families had the opportunity to celebrate the contributions and sacrifices made by our veterans to protect our freedoms. Our leadership class remembered our Veteran's by creating a scavenger hunt for our students. Students were invited to participate in their Counselor's Google Classroom. Those that participated will receive a US Flag sticker from our leadership class!

Thank you to our judges, Ms. Khoshaba, Ms. Kepner, Mrs. Cox, Mr. Tim, and Ms. Ludi, they have a tough decision. Take a look at our doors :
Activities:
Kickball noon league has wrapped up and our winning teams were the Costco Guys in 7th Grade and Pink Lemonades in 8th Grade. They will receive ice cream at lunch on Tuesday. We are looking forward to the basketball tournament kicking off next week. We have about 30 teams on the schedule between 7th and 8th grade!
Leadership has created a short Veteran's Day Google Form. Students who complete it will be given a special sticker and be entered into a drawing for a gift card. You can find a link to the form in the Grizzly News, Leadership's newsletter. This is posted on the both of our counselors' Google Classrooms.
We are excited to be creating a club snowman decorating contest rolling out at the end of the week. Clubs will have a chance to decorate a snowman according to the theme of their club. All snowmen will be on display in the lobby windows and be voted on by all students.
From Our Teachers:
In the classroom:
To meet the writing demands of high school, students must continually engage in academic writing tasks. Here, students in ELA 7 are assessing and critiquing elements of their own writing, through peer academic discussion
Students in Ms. Erickson's 8th grade science class are working on their Egg Drop Lab this week and trying to find ways to reduce the impact force on their eggs when they hit the ground. They will be dropped from the second story school roof on 11/14
