I am thrilled to introduce myself as your new principal and to be joining the incredible Husky team! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and working together to make next year great!

A little about me: This is my ninth year with Springfield Public Schools. I began my career teaching third and fifth grade at Williams Elementary, then moved to seventh grade English at Pershing. I have served as assistant principal at McGregor Elementary for the past two years. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of students' needs across different age groups and helped me develop a passion for creating engaging, supportive learning environments where kids can shine.

My husband, Joel, and I have been married for 14 years. We have a 9-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son. On our time off, we enjoy traveling, camping, going to the lake, and spending time together.

I'm truly excited to meet all of you and embark on this wonderful journey together. I want to assure you that my door is always open, so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just want to say hello. Here's to a fantastic year ahead, filled with learning, growth, and fun!

Join us for Meet the Teacher on August 15th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM! We invite families to explore the school, greet your child's teacher, and drop off school supplies. Afterward, head to the playground for a special ice cream social provided by PTA. We look forward to seeing you there!

Springfield Public Schools Back to School Bash is an event for students and families to get resources and information to start a successful 2024-2025 school year.

This event will offer free backpacks, hygiene kits, groceries, school supplies, sports physicals, connections to community resources and more! SPS is dedicated to providing district families with the support they need. The event is open to all SPS students and families.

When: Saturday, July 27, 2024, 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Where: Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis St., Springfield, MO 65806

I will be sending out more information about the upcoming school year as it gets closer to the start time. For now, please make sure you are following the Harrison Facebook page. I will use that to push out information as well as through email.

You are always welcome to stop by the office (I may not be available for an impromptu meeting at all times, but I will be glad to schedule a time if I’m unavailable).
