Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone had a wonderful extended weekend with their family!

This week we welcome all the parents of our 7th and 8th-grade students. Curriculum night is Wednesday from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. If you have not already done so it is a good idea to have PowerSchool and Schoology downloaded on your phone for easy access to your child's schedule. We will provide you with a paper copy of your child's schedule when you arrive in homeroom. Another good idea is to take a picture of your child's schedule and keep it on your phone to reference throughout the night. Bring a comfortable pair of shoes as you will be walking the entire schedule. We will have support located in the hallway if you need assistance getting from one room to another. We're excited to strengthen our partnership on Wednesday evening to support your child!

UPCOMING ASSESSMENTS

This week we will begin our fall assessments. All students will take AIMSweb assessments including MCAP & RCBM. These are universal screeners and will be administered in homeroom. Only those who scored below the 40%tile on MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) in the Spring will be administered the MAP assessment this month. The assessment calendar is below. The MAP assessment will be given to students in intervention classes, resource classes and in homeroom for those who do not have an intervention or resource class. Please contact your child's homeroom, ELA, or math teacher for additional information.

A link to sign-up for a conference will be sent to parents whom the teachers will be requesting a conference and then a link will be sent to all parents who would like a conference.

I want to warn our incoming parents that not every parent will be able to register for a conference. We conduct team-based conferences lasting 15 minutes each. If you would like a conference but all the slots are filled please email the team leader directly to request a conference.

If you are not interested in having your child bring their Chromebook home that is okay and they can keep it in homeroom overnight for charging.
