On October 17, PROJECT 351 PLAYBOOK INITIATIVE LEADERS, PETER MILBURN and SHREYA SHUKLA met with SMHS PEER LEADERS to discuss leadership, inclusivity and kindness. When students take the lead in shaping school culture, the impact is transformative. Peer-led initiatives encourage students to model positive behaviors for their peers which creates an environment where everyone feels valued and respected. SMHS thanks our PEER LEADERS and PLAYBOOK LEADERS for all of their efforts to inspire and create a connected and compassionate school community.

BRIGHTEN YOUR SPACE:
SHOWCASE SMHS STUDENT ARTWORK at YOUR BUSINESS!
We kindly ask local businesses to consider displaying student artwork to showcase the amazing talent of our young artists. By participating, your business will help promote creativity while building a stronger connection between our school and the community. It’s a great way to support the next generation of artists and foster meaningful relationships that enrich both our students and local businesses.
If interested, please contact Ms. Dineen D'Avena, our Fine, Media and Performing Art Department Chair, at ddavena@sandwich.k12.ma.us.

UPCOMING DATES
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE SMHS PTSA:
Welcome to the SMHS PTSA’s busiest time of the year… October!
We have the Halloween Festival, 3 dances, and 1 Senior Masquerade all in the next few weeks plus we still have grant requests from teachers and club advisors coming in. We honestly could use a little help, we don’t ask often or much but this is when we needed it.
Please consider donating a few hours of your time or some candy/snacks at the numerous events the students have planned.
We need ticket sellers at the Halloween Festival event, help on Monday with game room set up and Sunday with Maze take down. This Halloween Festival benefits every student at SMHS as PTSA gets a portion of each admission which goes to fund grants, Snack Shacks, etc. while the Jr/Sr classes get proceeds from the game room activities that they volunteer to run. A successful event benefits all of our students as this is our largest fundraiser!
Please consider volunteering a few hours of your time. Costumes are NOT required. Please sign up: https://signup.com/go/xeJmRan
Candy and snack donations are needed for every dance/Senior Masquerade out there, so please consider helping out. The Middle School Student Council sells these items at the dance to fund future middle school events/dances.
HOCO is asking for full size candy donations too (just drop off). With so many events going on the main office is going to look like the candy aisle at S&S so make sure you label your donation so it gets to the correct event and drop off any school day before 3:00 PM prior to the event date.

If you have already renewed your membership for this school year, thank you from us and every student at SMHS. If it is still on your To Do list, please click here and renew now.
We hope to see you at our next General Meeting on Tuesday, November 12th at 7:00 PM in the SMHS library.
Thank you in advance -
