ACP High School New Student Update
New Student Update - March 27, 2024
Hello future Knights! On behalf of the faculty and staff, welcome to ACP High School and the Knight family!
I am excited for next school year and cannot wait to get to know each of you. I know we will have a great year and I look forward to getting started. This is the first of several incoming New Student updates that you will be receiving before the start of the new school year. Expect at least one update per month between now and June. Starting in July, all new students and incoming freshman families will be included in our weekly Knightly Updates that go out to all grade levels. In these updates, you and your family will receive important details for things such as orientation, class schedules, student spotlights, activity/athletic information, and much, much more. Please take a few minutes to read every update you receive so you do not miss out on important dates and information.
As you begin your high school career at ACPHS, please know that I maintain an open-door policy and I am always available to meet with students and families. If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please do not hesitate to contact me. In the meantime, I hope the rest of your school year goes well and I look forward to meeting you soon. Take care, and always remember to strive for the impossible and be extraordinary! Welcome to ACP! Go, KNIGHTS!

New Student BBQ, Monday May 20th
New Student BBQ - one of our favorite events of the year is our New Student BBQ where each Spring we welcome our new to ACPHS Students to our campus. The event is optional but over the last 3 years, we have had a great turnout and hope to continue the tradition this year. We have the majority of our teachers, administration, and upperclassmen leaders present to help build community right from the the start with our new, incoming students. As the majority of the attendees are typically incoming freshmen, all new, incoming students are invited regardless of grade level.
Please RSVP for our New Student BBQ which will be held Monday, May 20th. The event will be hosted by our ACPHS Link Crew to welcome all New to ACP students! The event will begin at 5:30pm and end at 7:30pm. We will begin the night in our main gym with a Pep Assembly from 5:30 to 6:30. We will then rotate out to our north practice field for a BBQ. We are excited to meet our future Knights! Please RSVP below by May 13th. Specific details regarding pick-up and drop-off will be sent out prior to the BBQ. For any one-off questions, please reach out to munguia.allysa@cusd80.com.
When: Monday, May 20th, 5:30 - 7:30pm

**This is a student only event. Drop-off and pick-up will occur in our west drop-off zone.
New Student Orientation and New Student Survey
Please save the date! Our New Student Orientation will be held Monday, July 15th. In terms of the times, we are tentatively set to host the orientation from 8:00am to 2:15pm. More details to come in our New Student Update blasts but we wanted to make sure families had the date as they plan for the summer. The orientation will consist of a full day (8:00 to 2:15pm) for all incoming freshmen. For incoming 10th - 12th graders, the orientation will be half day (approx. 12:00 to 2:15pm). There will be no make-up orientation so we hope that all new students can make the event. More details to come but please save the date!
New Student Survey
We try our best to pair up our new, incoming students with a Link Crew Leader that we feel will be a great match as a mentor. Please complete the below new student survey to help us learn more about you as we prepare for orientation.

Are you interested in applying for Student Government?
Our school is committed to creating a student-led community where all students can voice their opinions and make a difference in their school environment.
The student government is an excellent opportunity for students to develop leadership skills, learn about the democratic process, and represent their peers. As teachers, you are well-positioned to identify students who have demonstrated leadership qualities, initiative, and an interest in serving their community.
The application process will begin soon, and interested students will have the opportunity to apply for various positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and many more. The process will include submitting an application form, writing a personal statement, and participating in an interview. Applications are due by May 24th. Please reach out with any questions.

Student Parking Information - 2024-25 School Year
The 2024-2025 parking application is available now. Students can select their parking spots for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year in the weeks listed below. Students MUST have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and a completed parking application prior to going to the Bookstore to select their spot. Click here to learn more about student parking. Students will receive a numbered parking placard that matches their parking spot, violations will be handed out if students are not parking in their assigned parking space. Two or more violations could result in loss of parking privileges.
Starting April 1st, 2024 @ 7am, once the application is completed your student can see Mrs. Arceo in the Bookstore to choose their parking space for the upcoming year. This will be on a first come, first served basis. We will begin with our incoming Seniors, followed by our incoming Juniors, next our incoming Sophomores following the schedule as listed below:
- Week of April 1st - Class of 2025 Parking Spot Selection
- Week of April 15th - Class of 2026 Parking Spot Selection
- Week of April 22nd - Class of 2027 Parking Spot Selection
Remember, you must complete the 2024-2025 parking application before your student can see Mrs. Arceo to select their parking space. Please make sure you receive a confirmation acknowledging a submitted application. I recommend you have your student have their driver's license and insurance (make sure the dates are current) with them or at least pictures of them to show Mrs. Arceo. Sometimes the documents may not load correctly and in the past, this has caused students to have to step out of line to complete it or call a parent. Do not fill out the parking application if your student will be receiving their license during the summer, please wait to fill it out when you can upload the graduated driver's license form or ID. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Arceo (arceo.laura@cusd80.com).
Families will be able to pay for the $80 Parking Permit starting July 1, 2024. Fees must be paid by 11:59 PM, July 19, 2024. If fees are not paid by this time, the space will be released and open to other students. Beginning July 17, 2024, students who have paid their $80 fee may pick up their parking placard for their assigned space from our Bookstore.
If students would like to pick up their placard before the first day of school and the fee has been paid, Mrs. Arceo will be distributing parking placards before July 17th and will post dates and times in the Summer Knightly Newsletter and on her web page, located under "helpful resources" on the ACP HS website.
