Third Grade Classroom News

Reading: We will begin our first unit next week with the story, A Fine, Fine School. This story is a humorous fiction genre and we will use it to work on reviewing character and setting as well as problem and solution.

Math: The students will be spending some time reviewing addition and subtraction facts and strategies before diving into multiplication and division the following week. They are welcome to use Moby Max at home to review as well.

Science: Next week, we begin Unit 1: Balancing Forces. This is a very in-depth unit about force, motion, and balance. I am so excited to get started with it!

Social Studies: The focus of our week will be about the regions of Missouri. Students will research information to determine what type of landforms are specific to each region as well as facts about the area in different parts of Missouri.

Language Arts: We will primarily focus on complete vs. incomplete (fragmented) sentences. We will work on creating sentences that include subjects, predicates, and have sentence structure.

Spelling: This week we will focus on short a and short i words including:
