Student Council Holiday Toy Drive!
Now through December 18
Dear Maple Families:
As the holiday season approaches, we have a wonderful opportunity to bring joy and warmth to families in need. The Maple Student Council is excited to announce a special initiative where students can help brighten the lives of less fortunate children by purchasing toys for the holidays.
How you can help:
Choose a toy or gift card - We’ve partnered with the Northfield Township to collect toys for families in the area. Your gift can be anything from a stuffed animal to a game or educational toy.
We encourage Maple students to purchase toys or gift cards and in return will receive raffle tickets for amazing prizes. You can drop off your new, unwrapped items and receipt to Ms. Reimer at the East Gym no later than Wednesday, December 18.
Raffle tickets will also be available during all lunch periods for purchase, .25 cents each or 5 for $1.00. Your student will then choose from many amazing prizes.
Make a difference - Every toy or gift card you donate will go directly to a child in need, spreading holiday cheer to those who may not otherwise receive a gift this season.
Together, we can make this holiday season a little brighter for those who need it most. We encourage you to participate, share the joy, and help create lasting memories for these children.
Student Council board members and sponsors would like to thank everyone who has donated so far. Thank you for your generosity and support!

Maple School has a strong tradition of providing students with an inclusive, in-depth musical theater experience. This year’s spring production will be the Disney classic, "Beauty and the Beast, Jr.!" All students who audition for the show will be cast, and all students who wish to participate in any of our stage crews will be accepted as well.
We will hold an informational meeting on Tuesday, November 19 from 3:45-4:30 p.m. in the PLTW room. We encourage students to attend the meeting to learn more about the musical program. We will provide all required paperwork and go over the audition process at that meeting. How to guide 'yellow feelings'
This month, we are focusing on the yellow quadrant of The Mood Meter, which is home to emotions that feel pleasant and have lots of energy, like lively and brave. Being in the yellow quadrant is beneficial in situations where having a lot of energy is helpful. Now is a great time to start a project, be physically active, or get things done. Want to move out of the yellow? Try taking a walk, listening to music, or taking deep breaths.
AT SCHOOL WE ARE LEARNING
How to recognize, express, and regulate high energy and emotions that feel unpleasant.
How yellow feeling words can impact us in different environments.
How to correctly label the emotions we are feeling.
AT HOME YOU MIGHT
Reinforce the idea that being in different quadrants on The Mood Meter is normal.
Have each family member share a time when they were in the yellow quadrant.
Ask your child: How do you know when you have a yellow feeling? What are the clues? Can you think of a time when you noticed a friend in the yellow quadrant? How did you know?

Parent volunteers needed for Career Day
Parent volunteers are needed for Career Day on February 21. We are looking for volunteers who are available to either conduct student interviews in the morning or present career opportunities to groups in the afternoon.
The aim is to improve our 8th-graders’ interview skills and broaden their career perspectives.
Morning interviewers will be expected to kindly and professionally lead students through a series of 20-minute mock interviews. For many of our students, this will be their first experience interviewing. We are looking for people who are eager to offer thoughtful feedback and encouragement. If you are able to participate between 8:00 a.m. and noon on February 21, we would love to have you.
We are also looking for enthusiastic and dynamic presenters for our afternoon sessions. Volunteers should plan to present two or three 20-minute presentations to rotating groups of students between 1:00-3:30 p.m.. If you are interested in talking about your career, what it entails, and the steps it took to get to where you are today, please consider volunteering for the afternoon session.
As you know, our students are excited to engage and learn. If you're able to participate, please complete this form.
In District 30, we strive to create meaningful and rich experiences for our students. We appreciate you considering this opportunity to contribute.
