The Pritchett Post -- 11/15/24
Home of the Panthers!
Dear Pritchett Families,
As we approach Thanksgiving, it’s a wonderful time to pause and reflect on the fortunes we share as a school community. Thanksgiving is not just about gathering around a meal; it’s also a time to celebrate the values of gratitude, kindness, and togetherness. Here at Pritchett, we are grateful for the dedication and partnership of our families, the hard work of our students, and the commitment of our staff who help foster a warm, supportive environment each day. I encourage you to take this season to share moments of gratitude with your loved ones, showing appreciation for one another and the community that surrounds us.
As a reminder, Parent-Teacher conferences begin next week. The best way to maximize your time with the teacher is to:
Take notes: Before the conference, write down any concerns you have about your child along with questions about the curriculum. Take your notes along as a reminder.
Be on time: Teachers are usually on a tight schedule for conferences. If you are punctual, you will have the maximum time to talk.
Stay calm: If there are problems, focus on ways to work with the teacher on solutions. Children benefit when parents and teachers are on the same page.
Plan the next step: Discuss how you will follow up on issues raised. You could swap email addresses or phone numbers (jot down the best times to talk) or schedule another meeting.
May your Thanksgiving be filled with joy, love, and thankfulness.
Sincerely,
Dr. Moreland -- Principal
Parent-Teacher Conferences
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting your child’s academic and social-emotional growth and success, we invite you to attend our annual fall Parent-Teacher Conference. This conference is an important opportunity for us to discuss your child’s progress, strengths, and areas where additional support may be needed with the teachers working with your child. Please understand this is not an opportunity to meet with staff who are not working with your child.
Pritchett School will have (3) fall conference dates:
Thursday, November 21, 2024 (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
Friday, November 22, 2024 (8:20 am - 3:50 pm)
Wednesday, December 4, 2024 (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
**Please ONLY sign up for (1) conference over the (3) days indicated above.**
Please click the button below for all the teacher links, and the steps, to select your conference day and time. Once your time has been scheduled, please be sure your confirmation email matches your calendar invitation.
2nd Grade Family Music Night
Great job to our 2nd graders who performed at their 2nd grade family music event yesterday! Family music night included an evening full of singing and folk dancing. The students have been preparing for this performance for a long time and greatly enjoyed sharing and celebrating music from around the world with their families. Special thanks to our amazing music teacher, Mrs. Binder!
Pritchett Panthers Honor Our Veterans
Our Veterans Day assembly was a truly wonderful experience, bringing together students, staff, and our community to honor those who have served our country. We began the event by singing the national anthem as a school, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Our students learned about the history and significance of Veterans Day, gaining a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by veterans. We were honored to welcome four veterans giving students a personal connection to this important day. It was a moving and educational experience that reminded us all of the importance of gratitude and respect for our veterans. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event meaningful for our students!

Transportation Reminders
Transportation Changes
Please note we will send children home according to our student database records. If you are changing your child's transportation, please send your child with a note in the morning.
For example, if your child takes the bus every day and you are picking up for a doctor's appointment at 3:30 p.m. (dismissal) please send a note that morning. In an 'emergency' situation you may contact Ms. Barraza by phone or email. Unfortunately, we will not be able to honor any changes after 2:00 p.m.
