Hello JES Family!
It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the end of another incredible school year! We closed it out with some of our favorite traditions—Kinder and 4th Grade Graduations, Popsicle Parties, our 1st (and hopefully annual) 4th grade Cookout, and of course, the 4th Grade Clap-Out. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to our 4th graders, we’re excited to see all they will accomplish in the next chapter of their journey.
I hope each of our students and families enjoys a fun, safe, and relaxing summer break. I’m looking forward to hearing all about your adventures when we return in August!
Thank you for the continued privilege of serving this amazing community. As always, my door is open—please reach out with any questions, concerns, or celebrations you’d like to share.
See you in August—and as always, GO DRAGONS!

Attendance Update
Attendance by the Numbers!
- Total Attendance for 2024-2025 school year was 96.08%, which was a slight increase from 95.75% in 2023-2024 and 95.66% in 2022-2023.
- JES had a total of 4,129 absences during the 2024-2025 school year which cost CISD approximately $206,000 in withheld funding. This is property tax money that you already paid to the state that will end up somewhere other than CISD!
- Our goal for 2025-2026 school year will be 97.00%. If we were at 97% this year, we would have saved the district over $48,000. With your help, we can reach 97% next year!
STAAR Results
STAAR results for our 3rd and 4th grade students are scheduled to be released on June 17th. Parents will be able to access results for their student via Skyward, and instructions for how to access those results can be found on the State Assessments Page on the CISD website.
