Dear Families,

As the season of Lent approaches, we are planning a retreat for our kindergarten through eighth grade students, so that they will come to understand the season of Lent and better prepare for the joy of the Resurrection at Easter. We appreciate so much your generosity in helping us purchase supplies for our Advent Retreat, and we are once again asking for your help to make this retreat meaningful and memorable for your children. Attached to this email you will see a link to our Lent Retreat Amazon Wish List. Please consider helping us purchase one or two of the items on the list. Our retreat is March 13, so we need the items by March10 so we can prepare. Thank you so much for your support and generosity!

Lenten Retreat Wish List

If your child is going home with someone different than normal (even if he/she is listed on your child's pick-up list), please send an email to your child's teacher and office@st-joe.org. We will be unable to release your child if the person is not listed on the pick-up list and we do not have a note from the child's parent(s)/guardian(s). Please know this is for your child's safety, which is our number one priority. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.

There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, March 14th and Monday, March 17th.

The school office will be open from 8am-1pm both days.

Confirmation Mass is approaching.

The Mass is March 22nd at the 4:00pm Mass.

We will have an opportunity for pictures with the Bishop before Mass. Once I know that timetable I will pass it along to you.

I have almost everyone's sponsor forms and confirmation saints. Thank you. If you have not turned either of those in, please do so ASAP.

There will be a Confirmation Rehearsal on March 19th at 7:00pm. Both candidate and sponsor should attend.

• Students will place a Crown and Flowers upon Mary and be introduced to the Parish

Below is a list of dates pertaining to your child’s sacrament of Confirmation:

✅ December 4, 2024: Mandatory parent meeting in the Church at 7:00 PM. Students do not need to attend.

✅ February 5, 2025: Mandatory parent and student meeting about the retreat in the Church at 7:00 PM.

✅ February 7-9, 2025: Confirmation retreat-Camp Ithiel

March 19, 2025: Mandatory Confirmation rehearsal in the Church at 7:00PM. Students and sponsors attend.

March 22, 2025: Confirmation at 4:00PM

Per Fr. Frankline's request, sacraments will not be held during school masses.

2nd and 8th grade SJCS students will be prepared for First Communion and Confirmation during the school day. Your child's teacher will communicate pertinent information with you.

If you have the following:

•3rd - 8th grader who wants to be baptized and/or receive their First Communion
