Central Elementary R.O.A.R. Report

I hope we get to welcome everyone back to school tomorrow! I have missed everyone and am excited to kick off a new semester. I hope you all had a great holiday and were able to enjoy your time as a family.

2nd quarter report cards should be sent home tomorrow with your students. Please take a look at your child's progress throughout 2nd quarter and if you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher. We really want to work together to make the second half of the school year a success!

We are at the beginning of a new semester and it's the perfect time to build some good habits to start 2025 strong!

School begins each day at 7:45 a.m. Our teachers really try to make every minute count and instruction truly does begin at 7:45 a.m. Please make every effot to have your child here before this time so your child will not miss out on instruction. Thank you for your cooperation.

If you drop off your child in the morning, our back gate closes at 7:40 a.m. each day so that our special class teachers that are outside on duty can be back inside at 7:45 a.m. to start their day with kids. If you arrive after 7:40 a.m., you will have to park in the lot and walk your child in to school. Please do not park in the handicapped spaces to drop off your children, unless you are truly handicapped. Thank you.

I'm happy to share that we have a new full-time School Resource Officer starting with us this week. James Pratt is excited to serve as our SRO. James previously worked for the Franklin County Sheriff's Department for five years. Officer Pratt has been in the process of completing his training with the Union Police Department over the last few weeks and will be training alongside other district SRO's this week. We are excited to welcome Officer Pratt to our Central team!

Our next PTO meeting will be held on January 21st at 5:00 p.m. in the library at Central. We will be planning for the Sweetheart Dance.

Kindergarten registration for the 2025-26 school year will be open later this week. Please spread the word to any family who has a child that will be 5 years old by August 1st.

Please help us out and write your child's name on the tag of their coats, sweatshirts, and lunchboxes. We can then easily return those items to your child when they get turned into the office.

If you notice your child is missing an item, please have your child look for it as soon as possible, or give the office a call, and we will be happy to help your child look for the item.
