THE LINCOLN LOGS
November 2024

Straight From the Principal's Office
Dear Lincoln Families,
As we enter the holiday season with Thanksgiving approaching, I want to express my gratitude for the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and families of Lincoln Elementary. Your children truly are a blessing, and I appreciate you sharing this precious gift with us every day. We are excited to celebrate several special events this month, including our Student Council-sponsored Salvation Army Fund Drive, our Veteranโs Day Program, and our annual Friendsgiving Feast. Details for all these events can be found throughout our newsletter. Please note that the end of our first trimester is on November 20. When report cards are distributed at the end of the month, I encourage you to review them with your child. Celebrate their hard work and achievements, and provide support in areas where they may need it. If you have any concerns or questions about your child's progress, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or your child's teachers. We are always happy to assist you.
Lastly, please remember to pick up any Gardner Pies your family ordered on Nov. 7 from 12:30-4:30pm here at Lincoln. These pies arrive frozen and must be picked up on this day. We do not have the freezer space at Lincoln to hold them.

Ms. Willis Wrap Up
Hi Lincoln Families!
Here are some updates about whatโs happening in our school counseling program. Weโve just wrapped up our bullying and violence prevention lessons, and Iโve seen some fantastic engagement from our students as theyโve explored their personal choices and the impacts that they have on others.
Next up, weโll be diving into our drug prevention curriculum, focusing on making healthy choices and then digital media safety. I truly believe this will help our kids navigate both their online and offline lives with confidence and responsibility.
At-Home Practice
To keep the conversation going at home, I encourage you to chat with your child about healthy choices and online safety. You might want to discuss different scenarios they might face or even role-play together. It can be a fun way to reinforce what theyโre learning!
Small Groups
Iโm also happy to share that Iโve completed my first two small groups of the year, and Iโm gearing up for the next round! If you think your child could benefit from small group supportโwhether itโs for social skills, coping strategies, or anything elseโplease feel free to reach out. I want you to know that no need is too small, and Iโm here to support your student in any way I can.
Weekenders Program
Lastly, a friendly reminder about our partnership with Feeding Medina Countyโs Weekenders program. This wonderful initiative provides a bag of healthy food for students to take home each weekend. The bags will be discreetly sent home at the end of the week and will continue throughout the school year. If youโre interested or if your family is in need of assistance, please donโt hesitate to reach out to me.
Thank you for your ongoing support in creating a nurturing and safe environment for our kids. Iโm always here if you have any questions or just want to chat!
๐ Student Councilโs Epic Change War: Bring Your Spare Change, Crazy Outfits, and Win Donuts! ๐ฉ๐ฐ
Student Council is excited to announce our Salvation Army Fund Drive and Spirit Week from November 11-15! Across the district, weโre teaming up to support our local pantries with a Change War to see which grade level can collect the most loose change! All donations will go to the Salvation Army to help those in need.
How It Works:
Each day, students are invited to bring any loose change they can donate. Weโll keep track of donations by depositing them into 2-liter pop bottles, so if you have any empty bottles to spare, please send them in โ theyโll help us tally our donations! The grade level that collects the most will win a donut party with Mrs. Maslyk! ๐ฉ
No filter needed to capture this school magic.
