Student and Patron Expectations at Bennington Athletic Contests
As we begin attending home athletic contests for Fall sports, (Cross Country, Football, Girls Golf, Marching Band, Softball, Volleyball, etc) please remember to follow Bennington expectations at these events.
Badger fans are expected to cheer in a manner that does not distract from the high school competition on the field/court. Examples of cheers that distract from the game on the field or on the court:
Suggesting officials have been paid off
Cheers that suggest an official is permanently poor in your opinion
Consistent screaming/yelling during the contest.
Students K-5 must be with a parent/guardian. Unsupervised K-5 students may be returned to a parent / guardian. If no parent/guardian is present at the contest, these students may be asked to head home for the evening.
Students are expected to sit with parents or in the section designated for their grade/school. Bennington Middle School and Bennington South Middle School have designated seating on the east side of the main grandstand (toward Bennington Road).
Balls, frisbees, and other sports items that could potentially create a safety hazard are not allowed inside the stadium. These items may be confiscated by game personnel.
No re-entry for students. Please bring blankets, coats, etc…into the game at the start of the contest.
Alcohol and tobacco products are not allowed on school property. Personal beverage cups are subject to inspection by the BPS administration or law enforcement.
The NSAA prohibits the following items from athletic contests. These items could possibly lead to a penalty/sanction for the Badgers: Confetti/shredded paper, powder (baby, talc, etc.), Laser light/pointer, flashing objects, miniature sports balls, objects or candy thrown into the crowd, artificial noisemakers, (included but not limited to horns, cow bells, bells, buzzers, clickers, thunder sticks, rattles, instruments not part of a band), whistles, air horns, sirens, cannons/muskets/guns/fireworks, live animals.
Gates will open for events 1 hour prior to game time. Blankets or other items placed prior to gate opening may be moved by administration.
Thanks in advance for assisting Bennington staff in providing the best environment for high school activities. With your help, our events will remain a safe, positive environment for all while keeping the focus of each event where it should be: on the athletes and the participants of the event.
School Communication
Pine Creek Elementary wants to be connected to our community! We will be communicating important school news through a weekly newsletter, Badger Beat. We also invite you to join us on Twitter for news, pictures, and announcements happening daily @PineCreek_elem. You are also invited to tag @PineCreek_elem with the #PineCreekProud for anything related to Pine Creek. We want everyone to know that our community is #PineCreekProud!

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
Building Basics: Car Line
We encourage parents to use the car line for students entering or exiting the vehicle. The parking lot is reserved for parents who need to come into the office to drop something off. If you ever need to park to drop off or pick up a student, please call the office, and we will gladly accommodate you.
Building Basics: No Pets on School Property
Pets are not allowed on school grounds during school hours, including during student drop-off and pick-up times.
Playground
You may have noticed that our playground is currently under construction. We appreciate your patience during this time.
Volunteer Information
Pine Creek will have many opportunities to volunteer and assist our wonderful staff and students! In order for family members to volunteer they must complete the volunteer application process. There are multiple levels for which families can volunteer. There are different expectations and procedures for each level. The levels are:
Level I: NO contact with children, working in areas such as the office, but not directly with any children.
Level II: This level works with children but in a supervised manner. This would include opportunities such as being a room parent, lunchroom parent volunteer, classroom presentations from parents, or with the book fair. Parents will complete the application process but will NOT have a background check. This is for volunteers who will NOT be left unsupervised with children.
Level III: This is for field trip volunteers. Any volunteer that may be alone with children will first complete the application process and then have a background check by the district. Level III applications need to be submitted to the school office a minimum of two weeks prior to the field trip to ensure ample time for a background check to be completed.
As you start looking ahead, it may be of benefit for you to complete this process if you have a desire to be a room parent or accompany the class on a field trip.
We would love to have as many volunteers covered and ready to go to properly be prepared for anything or any activity our classrooms may be doing in the future. Now is the time to get prepared for the wonderful activities we have planned throughout the school year.
All applications must be submitted to the Pine Creek Elementary office and must have an official signature of the person applying to be a volunteer. Attached is the volunteer application.
