Traditionally, the night before school begins, UE families come out to "Chalk the Walk" to welcome teachers and students back to school. Check out the photos below to see the students' amazing artwork on UE's sidewalks!

Sign up for the Celebration Book Program to recognize your child’s birthday or half birthday, an achievement, or “just because”. By participating in the program your child will be able to select a book from the librarian’s “Celebration Book Collection” of new books and donate it to the library in his/her/their honor. Your child’s name will be inscribed in the book, and will be the first one to check it out of the library to bring home and read.

This program will enable us to expand our library’s collection while celebrating your child for years to come. If you are interested, please send cash (exact amount) or a check for $15 made out to Unionville Elementary School, care of Mrs. Langdon in the library, no later than Monday, October 3rd, 2022. I will send home a form for you to select a date to honor your child.

As many of you already know, the UES PTO plans, organizes, and funds so many exciting events throughout the year that benefit our students, teachers, and community, and we need YOUR help to pull it all off! Many hands make light work.

The more parents and loved ones who contribute their time and talents, the stronger and more connected our community grows. Whether it’s a one-time commitment or a signature event, we have the perfect job for you.

Below please find a link to all of the major events and activities planned throughout the 2022-2023 School Year. This year we tried to include lots of additional information about the events and activities so you can quickly see if it would be a good fit.

The UES PTO is pleased to offer an 8-week French Enrichment Program for grades 1 and up - a program that will give your child a gentle introduction to the French language and its culture. Classes run on Tuesday mornings before school. Download the PDF to view the schedule and register.

Please return the registration part of the form with a check no later than Tuesday, September 13th. Classes begin on Tuesday 09/20. Space is limited and spots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. You can also fill out the portion of the form below and email it to kay.denisova@gmail.com.

Put a note “French”

Last Monday, the UES PTO held two Yahoo!/Boo Hoo! Socials, one for the morning kindergarten parents and one for the afternoon, on the first day of school. We were excited to see so many families come out and meet each other, sometimes for the first time.

Parents enjoyed drinks and snacks as they introduced themselves and talked about their child's name and teacher. Horns or tissues were handed out, depending on how parents were feeling about their little ones leaving for kindergarten, and parents connected over smiles and tears as they shared their first day stories.

Thank you Megan Cromer for organizing the event and for all of the parents who attended. Best of luck to all UE Kindergarten students and families!!
