Hello Navigators,

It really was a busy week with all kinds of Spirit Days for Red Ribbon Week, our Apex Fun Run, Halloween, and assemblies. I also continued to see learning and instruction happening everywhere. It was a fun week!

Join us on Wednesday, November 6th from 4-9 PM for a dinner night out at Tony Pepperoni. Part of the proceeds will got to support 5th grade camp. See this flyer for more information.

I am excited to announce that the Nichols PTO will receive over $22,000 from the Apex Fun Run. This is an amazing amount of money and we appreciate everyone's support. This money will help fund field trips, 5th grade camp, assemblies and other events. It really helps make Nichols a fabulous place.

This week we also had an assembly about bulling. Please check out this slide deck to learn more.

This week will be a lot quieter and back to business as usual.

National Child Safety and Protection Month, observed in November, highlights the importance of safeguarding children from various risks they may encounter in daily life. This awareness month encourages parents, educators, and communities to take proactive measures to protect children from harm, both at home and in public spaces. By promoting safety education and preventive actions, National Child Safety and Protection Month aims to create safer environments and empower children with the knowledge to protect themselves.

As a Leader in Me School we practice the 7 Habits. These habits are helpful in many aspects of life. Below are resources to emphasize the habits at home.

We know there are times when issues come up that need to be resolved. OUSD has created a chain of communication that allows for an efficient resolution process. This is now located on our school’s website under “Our School” called Chain of Communication.
