Reading Spring Benchmark
As we approach the Reading Benchmark on February 13th, I want to emphasize its importance in assessing our students' progress. Despite any testing fatigue, I'm proud to report that our students are on track to exceed the growth seen in previous years of middle school, a testament to their hard work and dedication, and the support they receive at home.
Encourage your child to utilize our RARE strategy (pictured below) for every question during the benchmark. Remind them to get a good night's sleep before the assessment and arrive at school ready to showcase their skills. With your continued support and their effort, I'm confident they will excel, setting the stage for success in future assessments, including the Spring Benchmark and ultimately the STAAR test.
Thank you for your partnership in your child's education. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Warm regards,
Principal Knox

Prepare for Success: TELPAS Testing Approaches
As we approach the end of February, it's essential to inform you about the upcoming TELPAS (Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System) testing for our students. This assessment evaluates language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. To support your child's success, we are excited to offer targeted tutoring sessions designed to enhance their language skills across all tested domains.
Our dedicated educators will provide valuable insights and strategies to help students excel in the TELPAS assessment. Additionally, we encourage you to take advantage of the practice platform provided by the Texas Education Agency for at-home practice. This resource allows your child to familiarize themselves with the test format, ensuring they feel confident and well-prepared for the upcoming testing period.
Your partnership in this process is invaluable, and we appreciate your commitment to your child's academic success. If you have any questions or require further information, please don't hesitate to reach out. Together, we can empower our students for a successful TELPAS testing experience.
