Welcome to the last week of school! Thanks for being a part of our village as we continue to motivate, inspire, and educate all students to be college and career ready. We are the Lions, and we'll have it no other way!!!!!!

Thank you to our many parents and volunteers who supported and participated in our field day! Thanks to SHS Student Government, Eaton Corporation, Sumter Police Department, PTO, and many parents who jumped right in to assist!!!!!
School Announcements
1. PreK Last Day of School:
- Hats off to our PreK students for a successful 22-23 school year!
- The last day for PreK was Friday, May 26th.
2. Report Cards:
- Report cards will go home June 1st.
- Students who have an average of 59 or below for the full year in ELA and/or Math must attend summer school for content recovery.
- Letters have gone home for candidates.
- Please sign and return to reserve your scholar's spot.
- All 5th Graders will be allowed to participate in the awards / promotion ceremony. However, if their report card states "Pending Summer School", attendance is required for promotion.

- 2nd Grade EOY Promotion Ceremony - May 30th @ 8:00 am - LES Campus

- 4th Grade EOY Promotion Ceremony - May 30th @ 12:30pm - LES Campus
- 5th Grade EOY Promotion Ceremony - May 30th @ 6pm - SHS Auditorium
- Kindergarten EOY Promotion Ceremony - May 31st @ 8am - LES Campus
- First Grade EOY Promotion Ceremony - May 31st @ 9:15am - LES Campus

Guest List:
Grades K - 4th : 2 guest per student (@ Lemira)
Grades 5th: 4 guest per student (@ SHS Auditorium)
Please do not bring balloowns as it will block view of guests.
4. School Fees and Discipline Referrals
- Students will be receiving letters this week in regards to school fees.
- If your scholar in grades 5th owe fees, he or she will waive fees in participation of field day and promotion ceremony.
- Please ensure all fees are paid by Tues, May 30th (1:00pm)
- If you have any questions or are not sure of the fees owed, please call the school.
- Fee letters will be sent out next week.
5. Yearbooks are still on sale!
- Don't forget to capture your memories by ordering one!
- You may purchase your yearbooks through the front office.
- All online sales are completed.
- Yearbooks will also be on sale during promotion ceremonies.
6. Half Days:
- Wednesday, May 31st and Thursday, June 1st
7. Summer School:
- All students required to attend summer school have recieved a letter for invite.
- Please make sure you sign and return.
- Summer school will begin Monday, June 5th - Thursday, June 29th
- Summer school will operate Monday - Thursday
8. Summer office Hours
- Sumter School District will observe summer hours beginning Monday, June 5 through Thursday, July 20, 2023. All schools and offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- The week of July 3 - July 7, Lemira Elementary will be closed. We will resume with operations Monday, July 11th.
9. PreK and Kindergarten New Student Registration:
- The window opened Monday, Feb.20th.
- Daily Registration is Monday - Friday (9am - 3pm)
- Please provide proof of the following:
A. Official Birth Certificate , Proof of Residence, Physical Examination Form (Kindergarten Only), Medicaid Card/Proof of Income (PreK Only), and South Carolina Immunization Form 4024
- Kindergarten students must be five years old by September 1, 2023.
- Prekindergarten students must be four years old on or before September 1, 2023.
- The prekindergarten program is not state mandated, and there are a limited number of slots available at each school.
