Looking back and ahead at Windsor news and happenings...
Dear Windsor Families,
Hopefully, this message finds you with your clocks set for the start of Daylight Savings. Fortunately, it has started with this wonderful weekend warm up. Our wish is that you have been able to enjoy it!
This week marks the start of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) for students in grades 3-5. (More information is included below in this weekend's updates.)
Our Windsor PTA is having a MOD Pizza fundraiser all day on Wednesday, March 11th! This is a great way to feed the family and support this fundraiser all at the same time!
On Friday the 13th, we are looking forward to an all school assembly performance featuring members of Windsor's Drama Club.
We have two more weeks of learning and fun here at school before our Spring Break begins on Monday, March 23rd. Thank you for entrusting us with your children each and every day!
Warmest regards,
Piper Boston, Principal @PrincipalBoston

Read Across America Month
Teachers are receiving some special books in their mailboxes for #ReadAcrossAmerica2020, which is taking place all this month!
"It is not enough to simply teach children to read; we have to give them something worth reading. Something that will stretch their imaginations—something that will help them make sense of their own lives and encourage them to reach out toward people whose lives are quite different from their own." —Author, Katherine Patterson

For the past two years, Windsor has hosted a St. Baldrick's after school fundraiser to support childhood cancer research. It has been a wonderful and well received event for those in attendance, and some families have recently been inquiring about it. We explored sponsoring an event for our community once again; however, for different reasons, we are unable to host this year. As a staff and school, we will continue working with our students on causes that are close to the community and model and reinforce the importance of giving back to others.
SOCCER COLLECTION FOR KIDS IN NEED!
