Student Information
New Process for Morning Drop Off Begins Monday, March 18
Effective March 18th, we will be implementing a new parent drop-off location at the back of the building on Berkmar Drive. This change is aimed at alleviating the traffic congestion we consistently experience at the front entrance on Pleasant Hill Road.
Morning Drop Off Details:
- Entry Point: Parents will enter off Lawrenceville Highway at the Pep Boys entry.
- Drop-off Area: Parents will drop off their students on Berkmar Drive in front of C Building at the designated drop off signs/markers.
- Exit Route: After dropping off their students, parents will exit down by the tennis courts, returning onto Lawrenceville Highway.
- Traffic Flow: The flow of traffic is one-way, entering at Pep Boys and exiting by the tennis courts.
- Additional Information:
- Students must stay on the sidewalks and refrain from walking on the road.
- Students are encouraged to move swiftly when exiting vehicles to facilitate the flow of traffic.
- U-turns on Berkmar Drive are strictly prohibited.
- The gates to Berkmar Drive will be closed at 6:55am to ensure the safety of staff and students as they transition to class to start the day.
THIS NEW PROCESS IS FOR MORNING DROP OFF ONLY. We will continue to follow the normal process in the afternoon for student pickup. It is crucial that all members of our school community adhere to these guidelines to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the new drop-off location. We kindly ask for everyone's cooperation in following the directions provided by our adult supervisors on duty in the mornings.
Credit Recovery Opportunities for Spring Semester
Our next credit recovery session is scheduled for Monday, March 18 to Friday, March 22
Students must see their assigned counselor to register for credit recovery
- The purpose of credit recovery is to provide high school students with an opportunity to recover credit for selected courses previously attempted and failed with a grade between a 50 – 69 %.
- The course is designed for students to complete with limited or NO assistance from a local school monitor or teacher.
- Students must attend in person after school from 2:40 pm - 5:40 pm on the designated days for the session.
- If they finish before the session ends, then they do not have to stay after school.
- Students may work on their course anytime. This means they can work on it at home, before school, during lunch, or anytime it is convenient.
- Again, they must report to the assigned room the week they have signed up for, until it is completed.

Educational Tips For Parents
Marijuana, a Gateway Drug
Many people believe marijuana builds a person’s tolerance to stronger drugs and some studies support this idea. A study published in the International Journal of Drug Policy found that nearly 45 percent of regular marijuana users tried another illicit drug later in life. One of those drugs is heroin. Studies suggest the majority of heroin users began with alcohol or marijuana. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, marijuana users are three times more likely to abuse heroin than non-users. In addition, people who abused alcohol and then paired it with marijuana use had an increased risk of their alcohol abuse worsening.
