PICTURES & NEWS
TEAM DISCOVERY'S ANNUAL HARD'ACK HIKE
Team Discovery embarked on our annual hike to and around Hard'ack. This gives our students the chance to build a sense of community while we enjoy one of St. Albans greatest natural resources. The foliage was beautiful which added to the amazing day. We returned to school in time for a well earned lunch. Link to 11 Photos.

KINDERGARTEN BREAKFAST FACES
These pictures were taken about a dozen days ago in the cafeteria. 10-5-2023. Link to 29 Photos.
RENAISSANCE 8TH GRADE SCIENCE
Mr. Rouleau took students' natural interest in building and flying paper airplanes and directed it into a lesson on aeronautical engineering. The concepts of lift, thrust and drag were introduced since they impact how far paper airplanes can fly. Time was provided for students to quickly research these factors and variables they could find online that might impact distance. In a later class, modifications students make to their plane designs and methodology will be tested for effectiveness. Link to 22 Pictures.
INVESTIGATORS LIBRARY TIME WITH MS. LEVINE
Second graders were read a story about a pet potato. Before, during and after the reading, Ms. Levine provided students with an opportunity to talk about pets, why they like or want them and the various responsibilities of being a pet owner. She had their full engagement in this literary experience. Link to 5 Pictures.
TRAVELERS 2ND GRADE LITERACY
Students expanded their vocabulary while learning about the great wall of china. As they covered the wall's history, Ms. Cox introduced students to the words defense, span, intervals, and transport -making sure they all had a good understanding of each of them. Link to 14 Pictures.

BIKING FRIDAYS IN OCTOBER (FROM HOUGHTON PARK TO SCHOOL)
“It’s not about what it is, it’s about what it can become.”
— The Lorax
Greetings from the Climate Committee! We are announcing Biking Fridays from Houghton Park during the month of October! If you don’t have a bike, walking is an option although bikers and walkers will not be kept together while getting to school.
Meet up at Houghton Park earliest at 6:50 and leaving at 7:00.
We are doing this because if you walk, bike, or carpool to school, it lessens air pollution and hopefully our actions will slow global warming.
Thank you for reading, biking and walking!
