Check out our first ever edition of 'Staff Chat'. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know some of our wonderful Covington Elementary School staff as they are interviewed by a student. This episode features Ms. Ranieri, one of our Grade 2 Classroom Teachers, being interviewed by Martina.

We are excited to have our Fall Book Fair upon us! Classes will be attending the Book Fair during school either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

We also will have the Book Fair open on Wednesday and Thursday evening to accommodate families that would like to attend. The Book Fair will be open the following evening times:

• Wednesday, September 15th from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.
• Thursday, September 16th from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.

I'm excited to share that we have just finished installing our new Little Free Library. It can still be found on the north playground area by the garden and is filled with books for a variety of ages. Feel free to take a book to enjoy or also leave one if you'd like to share.

Our 'Change Wars' competition is off to a hot start! A reminder that students can bring in any extra or spare change to school and each classroom will have their own collection container. The class that collects the most change by September 24th will win a pizza party lunch!

Save the Date! Our Fall Picture Day will be taking place on Friday, September 24th!

Our annual Covington BINGO Night will once again be virtual this year. The event will take place this Thursday, September 16th beginning at 6:00 P.M. We'd love for you and your student(s) to join us that evening! To sign up for for event, click on the link below.

Please refer to these reminders on expectations during Pick-Up and Drop-Off. These reminders are specifically in regards to parking during these times.

• Double parking on 52nd Avenue (or any street around Covington) is never allowed
• Parking or stopping on the school-side of the street on 52nd Avenue is never allowed
• There are designated crossing areas on 52nd Avenue and should use them when crossing the street

These expectations are to ensure the safety of our students and families and are expectations of Covington Elementary School and Oak Lawn.
