The Georgia Educational Technology Conference (GaETC) has opened its presentation application window! With all that we've been through over the past two years, education has never had so many challenges OR opportunities to improve!

This year's theme is "Navigating the Future: Innovate, Integrate, and Inspire" and will focus on "navigating our changed landscape with instructional best practices." What new practices have you brought into your classroom? What's a new tool you love? Or an old tool that you learned a new way of using! Apply to present and inspire other educators from across the state (and from out of state)!

But don't wait! The application deadline is May 1, 2022 (just two and a half weeks away)!
*Presenters receive free registration to attend GaETC but must be prepared to present on the day and time assigned.

Through the rest of the year, Google for Education and Kiker Learning are offering a series of LIVE webinars to help educators get the most out of the instructional (and sometimes technical) features of Google and Chrome! Yesterday's kick-off session with Eric Curts (Twitter: @ericcurts) was FANTASTIC (he is just the most amazing presenter!) and he crammed an incredible number of tips and tricks into 30 very short minutes (you can watch the recorded session below). The sessions are on Tuesdays at 1pm EDT, but will be recorded to watch later if you're in class at that time.

While you all know that I *love* finding and using cool templates in Google Slides, I am becoming more and more of a fan of designing presentations in Canva! One of the reasons why is all of the fun effects that you can add when presenting! Here are some of my favorites:

• Press any number 1-9 while presenting to get a quick timer for that number of minutes
• Press B to blur the current slide
• Press D for a drumroll
• Press M for a mic drop
• Press Q to shush your audience
• Press U for a curtain call at the end
