Principal's Message - Mrs. Alfonso
We are excited to share that today, we had the grand opening of our Book Vending Machine! This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to encourage positive behavior and foster a love of reading among our students.
Since March, students have been earning "Alfonso dollars" as a reward for demonstrating positive behavior. This is a program we’ve successfully used in the past, and we’re thrilled to bring it back this year. Once students earn three dollars, they can trade them in for a coin, which they can then use to purchase a book from our vending machine.
We look forward to continuing this positive reinforcement and are excited about the upcoming grand opening of our prize store next month, where students will have even more opportunities to earn and redeem rewards.
Thank you for your continued support in making this initiative a success. We can’t wait to see how the students continue to grow and thrive!
Counselor's Corner - Mrs. Faga
The theme for this month is Acceptance. Acceptance means recognizing and embracing differences in others, whether they are related to culture, race, abilities, beliefs, or personal preferences. It’s about understanding that everyone is unique, and that’s what makes each person special.
In a school setting, acceptance is essential for creating a positive and supportive learning environment. Promoting acceptance in school encourages an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued, safe, and heard.
To reinforce this theme, we will be reading books that highlight the importance of acceptance. We encourage you to discuss this theme with your child at home and explore how they can practice acceptance in their daily lives.

Spring can bring seasonal allergies, which may affect students with symptoms such as sneezing, runny noses, itchy eyes, and congestion. To help your child manage their symptoms effectively, we kindly ask that you have them take any prescribed allergy medication prior to coming to school each day. If your child requires medication during school hours, please remember to provide us with the necessary forms and authorization so we can administer it appropriately. Let's work collaboratively to ensure all students have a great Spring Season!

Attendance Matters
Important Information
We are working on improving our overall attendance at James Madison School. Please avoid taking vacations during the school year. If you want to travel, plan around the days/weeks we have off. Each day your child is not here, they are losing academic learning. Make-up work is not the same as in school learning. We are looking forward to working together to give every child a great education.
