WRESTLING IS TEAM STATE BOUND
SECTIONAL CHAMPS AND STATE BOUND!
Our #PointerNation Wrestling team was victorious over Iowa-Grant/Highland 33-32 in Tuesday's thrilling WIAA Sectional Final at home to earn a berth in the Team State Tournament! The Pointers also defeated Royall/Wonewoc-Center 72-10 in the Semifinal.
Mineral Point will now wrestle at the UW Field House in Madison Saturday, March 8.

TWO GIRLS ARE INDIVIDUAL STATE WRESTLING QUALIFIERS
#PointerNation Wrestling is State Bound! Mineral Point will send two girl wrestlers to the WIAA Individual State Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison -- great job!
Friday's Sectional placings at Prairie du Chien for State qualifiers include:
1st: Dealya Collins 126#
2nd: Emily Heisner 185#
This is Dealya's 3rd Sectional Championship.
Girls needed to place top two at Sectionals to advance to State.
Kudos to Breken Blackford-Hesselberg 107# and Tatum James 114# for being Sectional qualifiers.
Action at the Kohl Center will get underway for girls Thursday, February 27 at 2 pm.

EIGHT BOYS ARE INDIVIDUAL STATE WRESTLING QUALIFIERS
#PointerNation Wrestling is State Bound! Mineral Point will send eight boy wrestlers to the WIAA Individual State Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison -- great job!
Saturday's Sectional placings at Westby for State qualifiers include:
1st: Memphis Burkhalter 106#
1st: Roen Carey 144#
1st: Jacob Dannenberg 150#
1st: Kade Rule 175#
2nd: Liam Carey 120#
3rd: Emmett Collins 165#
3rd: Elliot Kite 132#
3rd: Sammy Springer 138#
Roen Carey and Kade Rule are now both four time State qualifiers (Rule is a four time Sectional Champion while Carey has won two Sectional Titles).
Boys needed to place top three at Sectionals to advance to State.
Kudos to Sawyer Dannenberg who just missed State by one spot, finishing 4th at 157#.
Great job by Lennon Ewert 113# and Matt Aurit 285# for being Sectional qualifiers.
Action at the Kohl Center will get underway for D3 boys Thursday, February 27 at 6 pm.

Due to the bitter cold last week, we had to reschedule Drive Your Tractor to School Day -- although it's no longer FFA Week, we had a small but mighty crew proudly bring their tractors Monday, one even trekking 50 minutes from Hollandale!
CONFERENCE CHAMPS
Let's hear it for our #PointerNation Boys Basketball Team, claiming the outright SWAL Conference Championship Friday with their win over Riverdale! This is our 16th Conference Title in program history and second in a row.
Mineral Point will wrap up the regular season with three road contests -- at Marshall Saturday 2/22, at New Glarus Monday 2/24, and at Iowa-Grant Thursday 2/27. Let's finish strong!

Mineral Point will next hit the hardwood Friday, February 28 in the WIAA Regional Semifinal vs. either Lancaster or Iowa-Grant. Keep the positive vibes going!

Let's hear it for our Dodgeville/Mineral Point/Iowa-Grant/Highland Gymnastics team for again winning the SWC Championship Thursday night at Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton/Darlington! We bested 2nd place Platteville/Belmont/Lancaster by a score of 139.075 to 134.450.

RULE GETS 150 WINS
And now there are 11 -- Kade Rule becomes just the 11th #PointerNation Wrestler to achieve the 150 win milestone! Congrats to Rule on achieving this honor in the WIAA Sectional Semifinal Tuesday night.
LINDSEY EARNS 1000TH POINT
Laci joins the Terrific Ten! A big congratulations to #PointerNation Senior Laci Lindsey who became the 10th Pointer in Girls Basketball history to hit the 1,000 point mark! This achievement occurred during the second half of Thursday's home 87-54 victory over Fennimore.

DENTAL HEALTH MONTH
February is National Children's Dental Health Month! School Nurse Jayne Lindsey has been busy visiting elementary classrooms to provide a lesson on oral hygiene and dental health. Students are learning the importance of brushing twice each day, flossing everyday, and visiting a dental clinic two times each year.
