A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Just a reminder our Juniors will be taking the ACT this week on March 12th. Grades 9, 10 and 12, NO SCHOOL that day.
Parents of Juniors the night before is a great time to take them out for a great dinner and make them a great breakfast the morning of (I promised them I'd say that!).
For the Juniors taking the ACT, here are some things to remember!
March 12th - you will be taking the ACT. Only Juniors will be at school that day. Please be sure to arrive at school at 7:30 am. It is VERY important you are not late. Bring a photo ID (driver’s license or school ID), a FULLY charged Chromebook, and a pencil.
Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria if you'd like to purchase one. You may NOT bring any food, drink, candy, etc. into the testing room.
Put your phone and smartwatch in your locker or better yet, leave in your car. Please be sure they are turned off. You will NOT be able to use them until testing is completed.
You will not be allowed to access your locker during testing.
You will need a calculator. Please review the “Calculator Policy” and be sure to bring the appropriate type of calculator for testing.
Good luck ACT testers!! You've got this!!!

Congratulations, March Student of the Month
Each month, a senior is selected as the OHS Student of the Month based on their scholarship, citizenship, leadership, and involvement in co-curricular activities. The Student of the Month for March is Delia! Congratulations, Delia!
Congratulations Fox Friday Winners For This Week!
Congratulations go out to the following students and staff member for being chosen as this week's Fox Friday winners, Leslie, Abby and Wes and our staff member, Mrs. Sundbeck! Thank you for demonstrating the characteristics of the Fox Four and for being such great role models!!
2025 Flyway Academic Bowl
North Fond du Lac High School was the host for this year's Flyway Academic Bowl on Monday, March 3rd, where 8 schools participated in a competitive event showcasing academic excellence across various subjects. Each department was tasked with nominating students who demonstrated strength in the categories of the test. There were 16 different individual tests, spanning across English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, with 4 levels per subject. In addition to these written tests, an oral portion required students from each subject area to sit at a table and answer 12 multiple-choice questions within a brief time frame. A special Current Event category was also included in this round. Omro is proud to announce that 4 of our students earned first place in their respective categories: Kayannah in British Literature/Shakespeare, Liam in Advanced Math, Madison in General Science, and Kay in World History. Congratulations!!
Band and Choir Students Perform at Solo and Ensemble Festival
Congratulations to all band and choir students who participated in solo/ensemble this past weekend. Each student prepared a piece of music, played it for a judge and was critiqued. Students playing the highest difficulty of music and earning a perfect or nearly perfect score will advance to state solo/ensemble. Students advancing to state solo/ensemble are Ayla -alto solo and musical theater solo, Karlee - alto solo, Scarlet - clarinet solo, Kay and Kaia - flute/clarinet duet, Kaia and Scarlet - clarinet duet, and Abbi, Connor and Vinny - trio! Way to go!!!
Students Apply Nutrition Label Knowledge to Create Personalized Pizzas
In Mrs. Morse's Food for Life class, students recently learned how to read a nutrition facts label. Applying their knowledge, each student created their own individual pizza by selecting ingredients and determining their nutritional value based on the information provided on food labels.
AP Students Explore Cell Communication Through Stop Motion Animations
AP Biology students created working models of cell communication pathways and then used their phones to make stop-motion animations, bringing their models to life. This hands-on activity provided a fun and engaging way to understand complex biological processes.
Powerlifters Qualify for State
A pep rally was held on Friday, March 7th to send off our powerlifting qualifiers to State! Wishing you all the very best at the Powerlifting High School Championships @ the Fox Cities Exhibition Center!
March Blood Drive a Success!
Omro High School hosted their March Blood Drive today in the Commons. Thanks to our students, staff and community donors, we are on track to earn our Red Cross Scholarship!!

St. Mary Omro Hosts Free Event- Youth Motivational Anti-Bullying Speaker
St. Mary Church in Omro is excited to announce that they will be hosting Kevin Szawala, also known as Mr. Peace on March 10 at 6:00pm. Kevin is a National Youth Motivational and Anti-Bullying Speaker, Hip-Hop Artist, and Spoken Word Poet from Metro Detroit. He travels across the country, visiting schools, churches, and colleges, sharing his passionate message of peace, love, and kindness. Using hip-hop, humor, and heartfelt stories, Kevin has inspired over 1,000,000 people in more than 1,000 schools across 20 states, focusing on topics such as bullying, cyberbullying, diversity, substance abuse, and suicide prevention through his K-12 school assembly programs.
Bullying is an issue that affects both youth and adults today, and we are thrilled to offer our community the chance to hear Kevin's powerful presentation.
Family Literacy Night- Dive into Reading - Let’s Go Under the Sea!
Family Literacy Night will be held at Omro Elementary School on Thursday, March 13th, 2025 from
5:30pm - 7:30pm.
There are lots of fun activities planned. Here is the line up of activities planned for the night:
- Book Swap - bring a gently used book to swap for a new gently used book
- Book Fair, Cotton Candy, and Kona Ice for purchase

A Night of Music is Coming!
A Night of Music is coming! Join us for an evening filled with great music and a delicious spaghetti dinner on Tuesday, March 18, at 6:00 PM in the PAC. Advance tickets are available in the OMS/OHS office for just $7 for adults and $5 for children under 13, while children under 3 are free. Tickets at the door will be $8 for adults and $6 for children. Don’t miss out on this wonderful event—we hope to see you there!
UPDATE: Omro Youth Trap team
The Omro Youth Trap team is currently open to all 6th-12th grade youth from any community, with a registration fee of $60. Hunters' safety courses are scheduled for Omro youth interested in shooting trap. The final sign-up for trap and the team's first shooting night will be held on March 19, 2025, at Springbrook Sportsman Club in Omro from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The evening will start with a brief meeting from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., followed by shooting practice. The team also uses TeamReach for communication, and the code is OYTrap2025, which is the most effective way to stay updated. For further information, you can email Bethany Gerber at omroyouthtrap@gmail.com.

We are excited to announce this year’s musical: “Out of the Woods” by Stephen Murray.
Rehearsals will be held from 3:30-5:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Full rehearsal schedule will be posted after auditions.
The performances will be held on April 11-12 and will play for 3 total shows. One on Friday Night, and Two on Saturday - one matinee and one night showing.

ATHLETICS
REMINDER: EXTRACURRICULAR ATTENDANCE POLICY - PRACTICE & COMPETITION
***Students must be in attendance for the entire school day in order to practice or compete in an event. ***
Special circumstances may merit exception with prior approval from the Principal/Dean of Students, or designee. To see if the absence can be approved:
- Step 1 - Parent/Guardian notification to office (Mrs. Prado, Mrs. Stadler or Mrs. Dobberstein) at least 24 hours prior to absence)
- Step 2 - If absence is approved, Student picks up signed Excused Slip from office
- Step 3 - Student gives signed Excused Slip to coach/advisor to participate the day of the absence
If an absence is deemed unexcused it will result in ineligibility for participation in extracurricular activities until the next full day of attendance.

2025-2026 Omro Dance Team Tryouts
The Omro High School Varsity Dance team will be hosting tryouts for the 25-26 dance season. Here is the link to our tryout packet. Only pages 7-10 are required to be turned in. All applications must be completed and submitted by Friday, April 25 at 5:00 pm. Failure to submit tryout packets in time will result in you being ineligible to try out for the 2025-2026 Omro Dance Team.

Summer Opportunity
The Omro Pool is hiring!! Applications for Lifeguard are due March 14, and April 11 for Front Desk. You must be 15 years old for Lifeguard and have completion of your CPR/AED by May 10. For Front Desk you need to be 14 years old. Applications can be dropped off or mailed to Omro City Hall by 4:30pm on the days specified.
