February 2024
Welcome, February
February promises to be a month filled with exciting opportunities for growth and learning. We would like to remind you of two days of no school this month:
- February 9th: There will be no school for students on February 9th due to conferences. This day provides us with the valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about your child's progress and academic journey. We look forward to meeting with you to celebrate achievements and discuss strategies for continued success.
- February 19th: In observance of Presidents Day, there will be no school on February 19th. This day serves as a moment of reflection on the contributions of past leaders and a chance for our students to recharge before returning to the classroom.
As we move forward into the rest of the year, we are confident that together, we will continue to create a supportive and enriching environment where every student can thrive. Thank you for your ongoing partnership in our shared mission of educational excellence.

Congratulations are in order for student artists from Taylor Middle School and Taylor High School.
The Scholastics competition stands as the largest visual art contest for high school students across the United States. Open to teens in grades 7-12 (ages 13 and above), participants can submit their work across 29 categories of art and writing. A panel of art professionals carefully evaluates the submissions, seeking pieces that showcase originality, technical prowess, and the emergence of a distinct personal voice or vision. From a pool of over 5000 entries, these (below) talented Taylor art students were selected for this esteemed exhibition.

FC Cincinnati Visits Three Rivers
We are delighted to share the fantastic news that FC Cincinnati returned again to Three Rivers Elementary this year for another thrilling visit! The players, including former FC Cincinnati's Omar Cummings, have always been incredibly engaged with the students, taking the time to not only inspire them with their love for the game but also to help them strengthen their basic soccer skills. It's an experience that goes beyond just meeting professional athletes; it's an opportunity for the kids to learn and grow in their own abilities.
We want to extend a huge thank you to Mr. Haney and Principal Biedenbach for their hard work in orchestrating this amazing experience for the students. Their dedication to providing such enriching opportunities for the kids is truly commendable and greatly appreciated.
The excitement that fills the air when the students have the chance to play with and learn from these professional athletes is truly contagious. The visit is not just a fun day in PE class; it's a chance for the kids to see firsthand the dedication and hard work that goes into honing their soccer skills. The players' engagement with the students goes a long way in fostering a love for the game and encouraging the kids to continue developing their abilities.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity for our students to benefit from such an enriching and inspiring experience. Thank you, FC Cincinnati, for your continued support and dedication to helping our students grow and develop their love for the game!

Speak Love
Nick Jackson from I Am Speak Love visited Taylor for a unique opportunity. I Am Speak Love is an organization led by the belief that excellent character and unwavering love will allow us all to reach our fullest potential (iamspeaklove.com). During his time with Taylor students in grades seventh through twelfth, Nick reflected on an individual he was unkind to while in high school. Nick explained his hopes to apologize to the young man in his adult years. However, before having the opportunity, Nick received a call to notify him that the young man had passed away. The message was shared to explain to the student body how much words can hurt not only those the words are spoken to but also the individual who spoke the words.
Mr. Jackson spent forty-five minutes with the student focusing on social-emotional learning and positive behavior. He shared the acronym TEAM to instill the importance of being trusting, empathetic, accountable, and mission-driven in order to have a successful life and a positive impact on others.
Many students opted to stay after the presentation to ask individual questions. Nick stayed until every person in line had an opportunity to speak with him.
These social-emotional opportunities are invaluable in educating the whole child.
