CVU Celebrations
November 1, 2024
Dear CVU Community,
It’s hard to believe that October is behind us. It’s been a busy stretch, especially for those seniors applying early to schools. The transition from high school to what's next can be a whirlwind, especially with the pressure of early applications. Seniors, as you continue to think about transitions from CVU, we want you to know that we, as a community, are routing for you to find the path that is right for you. Whether you’re thinking about college, travel, work or military service, your school counselors can help you better understand what options are out there. There’s truly a world of possibilities! We believe that each of you are capable and worthy of success and happiness. We’re here to help.

Looking for something fun to do in November? Something that's toe tapping, thought provoking, ear catching, and just a feel good experience? Come experience "FOOTLOOSE"!
CVU is proud to present the electrifying musical, "Footloose"! This high-energy production will run for 4 performances only from Friday, November 15th - Sunday, November 17th in the school's Theater.
Based on the iconic 1984 film, this updated version tackles relevant topics of censorship in public schools and the pressure from religious groups to suppress freedom of expression. "Footloose" tells the story of Ren McCormack, a teenager who moves to the small town of Bomont, where dancing is banned. With vibrant choreography and a catchy score, Ren teams up with local students to challenge the oppressive rules and bring the joy of dance back to their lives. Under the direction of Elisa Van Duyne and featuring a talented company of students, this production promises to be a celebration of freedom, friendship, and the transformative power of music. With unforgettable songs like “Let’s Hear It for the Boy”, “Holding Out for a Hero,” and "Footloose", audiences will be tapping their toes and singing along!
Don’t miss this chance to support the talented performers and company of Champlain Valley Union High School and experience a night of unforgettable entertainment!
