What happens when you don’t call in an absence?
When your student is going to be absent on a school day, you can notify the school by phone, email (DeweyAbsence@sanjuan.edu) or via the Parent Portal. If your child is marked absent and we have not heard from you, we will call you at the contact number we have on file for you to ask the reason of the absence. If you do not notify us or respond to a message with a reason for the absence, it will automatically become “unexcused”. So please be sure to let us know when your child is going to be out!
Art Room Request
6th grade is starting their sculpture unit, and they will need cardboard to help them construct their projects. They will be creating infinity mirrors inspired by Yayoi Kusama's "Infinity Rooms", and create a sculpture surrounding it, using cardboard as the base. Any cardboard donations are greatly appreciated and can be left in the office. Acrylic or tempera paints are also welcomed!
