3/7: Skate Night @ Cheap Skate
C'mon out to Cheap Skate to roller skate, jump in the bounce houses, or play the arcade games with your family and friends. Registration information will be sent out soon. Everyone is welcome! And, Cheap Skate will donate 100% of admission to supporting Adams.
3/15 Order Free Trees
Because of our partnership with the MN Department of Natural Resources, we have an opportunity to order free saplings from Neighborhood Forest. Trees are shipped and should arrive @ Adams in time for Earth Day (April 22nd). Then you can plant them and watch them grow as your kids grow! Go here to register for your free trees: https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/parent-registration/?school=46054
3/19: PAC Meeting @ Adams @ 6:30-8
Everyone is welcome to join us at our monthly meeting to hear about things happening at Adams. Bring the kids because they will have activities in the gym while the adults meet together in room 107. This month, THIRD GRADE will share what's happening in their classrooms; please join us! If you can't come in person, but would like to join virtually, here's the link to do that: meet.google.com/zjj-dgse-zes
3/22: Restaurant Night @ Chuck E. Cheese @ 8943 University Ave NE, Blaine Dr NE
Back by popular demand!
Meet up with your Adams friends for dinner! See your teachers! (Maybe even challenge one in Dance Dance Revolution.) Just be sure to mention that you are there for Adams Elementary, so they know to give a portion of your purchase to support programming (and fun activities like the friendship dance!) at Adams.
Girls on the Run
From the Desk of our School Social Worker
"Metro by T-Mobile is committed to bridging the digital divide for students in kindergarten through 12th grade across the country, through their Project 10Million initiative. This year, through our partnership with Metro by T-Mobile, and as our National Internet Connectivity sponsor, we are supporting teachers and their classroom by sharing Project 10Million with them. Through the program, qualifying students receive FREE mobile hotspots that provide FREE internet access in the classroom and at home for FIVE years.
The Digital Divide, defined as the gap that exists between those who have reliable internet access and devices and those with very limited access or none at all, impacts 1 in 4 students across the country. This equates to between 15 to 16 million students K-12 who aren’t able to access class during days of e-learning or for homework.
Through Metro by T-Mobile’s Project 10Million, students kindergarten through 12th grade can receive access through the click of a button—it’s that easy—and important."
From Our Volunteer Services Coordinator
Happy March! It's hard to believe we're a week away from completing 2nd Trimester. Thank you all for your support of Adams Elementary. We truly have the best volunteer team, and you are very appreciated!
K-Skillbuilders
K-Skillbuilders is a program where volunteers work one-on-one with Kindergarten students to increase their reading and math skills. Training and materials are provided. This is a great way to help our youngest learners! Sign up here. [timeframe: 1 hour, once a week]
Every Meal
We are still looking for one more volunteer to help distribute meals into student backpacks on Friday mornings. Sign up here. [timeframe: 1 hour]
REMINDER: If you are interested in chaperoning your child's field trip, you will need to fill out Adams Elementary Volunteer Forms for this year. Please communicate with your child's teacher if this is something you are interested in.
