We are excited to celebrate Valentine’s Day with our classroom parties on Friday, February 14th at 2pm! It’s a wonderful time for students to share kind messages and enjoy fun activities.
As a reminder, no food or candy can be passed out as part of your child’s valentines. This will help us ensure a safe environment for all students, including those with allergies. Allergy-safe snacks will be provided during the parties, so everyone can enjoy the celebration worry-free.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to make this a fun and inclusive event for all! ❤️

Counselor Corner
Mrs. Allocco is happy to introduce you to her new intern, Jill Prout...many of you may know this person VERY well! Please take a moment to read this introduction from Jill.
I am so happy to be regularly back at Tremont this semester as Mrs. Allocco's practicum student. I am getting my masters in School Counseling and I couldn't be more grateful to spend this time learning with and from the incredible students and colleagues I have at Tremont. Those of you that know me think of me as the "garden teacher" or the "outdoor lady," which I love! I am combining my passion for outdoor learning and mental health by focusing on ecotherapy practices, and will continue to advocate to get kids learning, cooperating, and problem-solving outdoors. I will be working with Mrs. Allocco to teach class lessons, run small groups, and work with students individually every Tuesday and Thursday this semester. I can be reached at jprout@uaschools.org and I am looking forward to connecting with you and your student(s) in a new way!
Thank you!!!
Jill

ELEMENTARY Progress Reports
Unfortunately, the Progress Report icon for students with IEPs in PowerSchool has been eliminated. This was out of Upper Arlington’s control. In order to access your child’s progress report, your child’s intervention specialist or speech language pathologist will share the report via an email from Same Goal after each reporting period. You should receive the 2nd quarter progress report by January 21st for your student in grades Pk-5.
Gifted Retesting Opportunity
Requests for testing for the purpose of qualifying students for gifted services in the 2024-2025 school year must be received by March 1, 2025.
Upper Arlington Schools will administer the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) and Iowa Assessment in March 2025 for students in grades 2-5 who are referred for gifted identification testing (gr. 3 & 5) or retesting (gr. 2 & 4).
If you would like to refer your child for the March 2025 CogAT and/or Iowa Assessment, please complete this Google Form by February 21, 2025. If you are unable to complete the form, please email Gifted Education Coordinator Shannon Gagel at sgagel@uaschools.org.
K-12 Visual and Performing Arts Gifted Identification Process
Parents, teachers or students can nominate students for Visual and Performing Arts assessments. This is a multi-step process where students will first be rated on their artistic talent by a teacher with knowledge of the student. Then, if that rating meets the screening criteria, your student will be invited to bring a portfolio of art or to audition outside of the district for trained arts instructors on 3/8/25 in New Albany. All of the information on this process is available here. The deadline to submit nominations is 2/10/25, though I would encourage you to complete the nomination process as soon as possible.
