HV Update 5-9-25
A message from your principal, Mrs. Stager
Field Day is on the horizon and it's going to be a great day! Thank you to Mrs. Maier and the HSA for all the planning and preparation. Please make sure your child wears his/her t-shirt to school on Monday. Please apply sunscreen prior to coming to school. Teachers cannot apply sunscreen to children throughout the day. If you are here as a spectator, you may do so.
The weather should clear up for a beautiful Mother's Day. Enjoy the weekend!
Best,
Allison

Kindergarten Registration
If you have a child turning 5 years old on or before October 1, 2025 and you are planning to enroll in kindergarten for the fall, it's imperative to complete the registration paperwork as soon as possible. The district is currently planning sectioning and school assignments for incoming kindergarteners. We need all younger siblings eligible for kindergarten registered to secure school placement with older siblings. If you have friends and neighbors that need to register their children, please encourage them to do so as quickly as possible. Registration information can be found on our website. Kindergarten Orientation will be held at each elementary school on June 5th at 9:00 A.M.

Spring has Sprung!... and so have Spring Allergies!
We're looking forward to the budding trees and blooming flowers, but some of us suffer from seasonal allergies! Symptoms include: itchy eyes, scratchy throat, cough, runny nose or congestion, and watery eyes. It could be hard to determine when to keep your child home. Follow these guidelines:
- Keep your child home if he/she does not feel well enough to participate in normal activities, even if fever-free.
- Keep your child home until fever-free for 24 hours without the need to take fever-reducing medication (fever is defined 100.4 and above).
- If nausea/vomiting- keep your child home until at least 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting.
- If your child has strep throat- keep your child home until at least 12 hours have passed since the start of antibiotic treatment and fever-free for 24 hours without the need to take fever-reducing medication and feeling well enough to participate in normal activities.
- If your child is Covid-19 positive, keep home and call your school nurse for the latest guidelines.
- When reporting an absence, please report symptoms and any official diagnoses.
- Obtain a doctor's note if your child is sick for 3 or more days.
- Remind your child about practicing good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette
