Principal's Message
Dear Ross Roadrunners,
Wishing all families who celebrate a Happy Hanukkah!
We have a fun Spirit Week planned for next week!
Monday: Favorite Color Day
Tuesday: Wacky Mismatch Day
Wednesday: Dress to Impress Day
Thursday: Pajama and Stuffie Day
Please remember that DCPS does not excuse family travel. If you are traveling next week, please note that you will receive robo-calls from DCPS alerting you of your child's unexcused absence.
Progress reports are coming home in backpack mail today, Friday, December 16 for any K-5 student currently not on track to earn a 3 or 4 on the Term 2 Report Card in one or more of the major academic areas. Please sign and return one copy and keep the other for your records.
If your child is on track for a 3 or 4, you WILL NOT receive a progress report.
Warm Regards,
Holly Searl, Principal
NO Clubs After School Next Week
Cooking, Homework and Chorus are not meeting the week of December 19. Please pick your children up at regular dismissal time.
Test to Return
Please note your child must "test to return" before coming back to Ross on January 3. Test kits were sent home in backpack mail. Please see us if you need extras. Please upload your results here.
Lottery is Open
The MySchoolDC Lottery is now open. www.myschooldc.org
- If your child is currently at Ross, you DO NOT need to do the lottery if you plan to return to Ross next year.
- If you have a younger sibling of a current Ross student at home, please note that you must enter the lottery for PK4. All PK spots in DCPS are awarded via lottery.
- If you have a current 5th grader at Ross, you have a right to our two feeder schools, Cardozo or Francis-Stevens, or the school assigned to your address or you may enter the lottery for other possible options.
The next Ross Open House for prospective families is January 12 at 9:00am. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to attend.
