Spartan Weekly
News from Glen Crest Middle School: October 27, 2024
From the principal
It has been another great week at Glen Crest Middle School! For Halloween next week, students are allowed to wear costumes on Thursday. Please be sure to make note of a few expectations for halloween:
- No face paint
- No masks
- No weapons as a part of a costume (including toy weapons)
Just a reminder: Monday, November 4, is a teacher institute day and a non-attendance day for students. Tuesday, November 5, is Election Day and is also a non-attendance day for students.
Finally, a huge thank you to the majority of our parents who are following our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Just a few reminders:
- During drop off, please continue to pull forward all the way to the bottom of the hill. When parents stop at the top or in the middle, it creates a log jam of cars near our crosswalk. This is potentially dangerous for our students who are crossing.
- During pick up, if you are in line in the pick up lane, please pull forward if cars in front of you leave. This allows the next group of cars waiting to enter the pick up lane the opportunity to pull forward.
- Please do not do u-turns out of the drop off/pick up lane. This is illegal and dangerous for other cars and walkers.
- As a general rule, please do not pull into the parking lot or circle drive to drop off students. This is reserved for injured students and other special circumstances.
Again, the vast majority of our parents are doing a great job with these procedures. We appreciate the support! GO SPARTANS!!
