Attendance H.E.R.O.s Strive to Beat the Bell!
Hello again HES Families!
It is the beginning of a new quarter here at HES. We have so many positive things to celebrate about the first quarter of the school year. In regards to attendance, HES is celebrating a high number of students with Pawsome Attendance in September (358 students missed 0 or 1 day during the month!), and one of the lowest chronic absenteeism rates in the district (10% of our students are "chronically absent," having missed 5 or more school days this year). Our goal is to keep a high number of students qualifying for Pawsome Attendance by having them here at school as much as possible and to keep a low chronic absenteeism rate. Thank you for everything you are doing to help get your student(s) to school every day they are healthy enough to be here and for letting the office know when your student is going to be out of school.
This month, our focus is on a new initiative we are calling "Beat the Bell!" Beat the Bell is all about making sure our students are getting into the building before the 8:00 arrival bell rings. Being on time helps ensure that students are able to participate fully in their classroom's morning routine and start the day on the right foot. To learn more about how you can structure your morning routine to help your child beat the bell, please see this month's Pawsome Attendance TV video linked below.
Click on the link "Pawsome Attendance at HES" above or the picture to the right to view October's attendance video. This month's first video focuses on routines that can help families "Beat the Bell" and get to school before the 8:00 arrival bell.
Do you have a great morning routine with your children that helps you make it to school on time every day? If you would like to share your tips and tricks in one of our Pawsome Attendance TV videos, please reach out to Mrs. DiMatteo by emailing Stephanie.DiMatteo@d300.org
