The Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available in December. In previous years the application opened up in October. Once the application opens, we will send reminders. Also, there is proposed legislation that would make completing the FAFSA a graduation requirement. If that bill is approved we will make sure our families are aware.

On Wednesday, November 15, Roxbury High School will be hosting our 3rd Annual AP, Career Pathways, and Dual Enrollment Night. This is a great opportunity for our students and families to learn about these programs offered at Roxbury High School.

Four students from Contemporary World Issues class attended TEEEM’s 3rd Annual Leadership Symposium at Ramapo College on Tuesday, October 24. TEEEM– The Empathy, Equality, Entrepreneurship Mission– is a non-profit organization that teaches students about global issues and humanitarianism through empathy and entrepreneurship. TEEEM has connected Roxbury High School with Nyaka an organization that provides community-based solutions to address the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children in rural southwestern Uganda. During the symposium, the students worked very closely with the Founder of Nyaka and a CNN Hero Twesigye “Jackson” Kaguri to establish goals on how they can help his organization’s efforts. The goals include making virtual connections with Ugandan students for tutoring and social interactions. Also, there are plans to raise funds and bring awareness to Nyaka’s efforts. The students have decided to start a club that will extend the class’ efforts to help Nyaka and the people of Uganda.
