Some thoughts for the starting school year

Hi Everyone,

We hope you are enjoying the week. This afternoon we have our final round of fall parent-teacher conferences. All conferences are in-person unless you as a parent have reached out to the teacher specifically requesting a virtual session.

Students in AP Language and AP Literature had a visit with YHS alum and published author, Anna Rasche ('05), who spoke about her new novel "The Stone Witch of Florence". What a great experience for our students.

Ms. Damiano and Ms. Luby brought a group of students to the Youth Leadership Conference today. It was a great opportunity for our students to work with others and learn about leadership and the challenges they face.

York High School is proud to announce our annual Veterans Day event, a tradition that brings our staff and students together to show appreciation and gratitude to the brave men and women who have served our country. On the morning of Friday, November 8th, we will be hosting a school-wide assembly followed by a special breakfast for the veterans who join us.

To make this event even more meaningful, we will be creating a slideshow featuring photos of the veterans in our lives. We kindly request your assistance in making this a success by sending pictures of your veterans to gcaraballo@yorkschools.org. With your help, we can create a memorable tribute to the heroes who have dedicated their lives to serving our nation.

Thank you in advance for your support and participation in honoring our veterans the way they truly deserve.
