Message from Mrs. Phelan
Dear Lowell Families,
I hope this message finds you well. I am delighted to share that we had a wonderful week here at Lowell School!
This week, the Middle School Guidance and Assistant Principal visited us to welcome our fifth graders to the Middle School. They discussed the expectations for the upcoming transition in September, ensuring a smooth and successful progression for our students.
Today was a special day as we celebrated Lunch Hero Day! It was a fantastic opportunity for us to show appreciation and recognition to our dedicated Lunch and Kitchen staff for the amazing care and nourishment they provide to our children every day.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in creating a positive and nurturing environment for our students.
With Gratitude,
Stacy & Ben

Golden Leopard
We are amazed at how many students have been spotted! We are so proud to see children in the school working hard to demonstrate their commitment to our core values.
The Golden Leopard reward was created to celebrate our students. If a student earns a leopard spot for each core value in one week, they will receive the Golden Leopard reward.
They will receive a special certificate; their names will be announced during the morning messages and appear in the family newsletter.
During this week, we had three students that earned the Golden Leopard. Please congratulate James Connelly, Colt Oullette, and Phoneix Adams!
Whole School Buddies
This week, students could join their school buddies in different activities. It was amazing to see our students connect with older or younger grades and share a joyful moment.
School Lunch Hero Day
Today was a special day! We celebrated those adults who support and help students daily in the cafeteria. Students are grateful for all their hard work and for constantly receiving them with a smile.
The students thanked every cafeteria worker, and to celebrate, we ended lunch with dance parties!
Outdoor Dining Area
This week, a group of 2nd-grade students had the privilege of using the cafeteria's outdoor dining area for the first time! They earned this reward for following the school and classroom expectations. As the weather improves, we hope that every class can enjoy this outdoor area.

We are excited to offer World Languages next year in grade 6 at Watertown Middle School. We have three languages from which to choose: Arabic, Italian, and Spanish. Spanish teachers are presenting this information to students on the three languages during class during the first and second weeks of May. Please use that information as well as the information on the following link to help inform your decision about which language to take in the middle school.
Honor your Mother in May at the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute Mothers’ Day Walk for Peace!
On Sunday May 12, Watertown residents will once again join together in the Mothers’ Day Walk for Peace, supporting the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute and its services to families and communities affected by violence and trauma. This is the TENTH year Watertown Walks for Peace (WW4P) has shown up to lend their support to the work of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute!
Please walk and/or donate to help us reach our fundraising goal of $5000! You can sign up to walk and/or make an online donation here at our WW4P team webpage. A free bus will leave Watertown for the walk in Dorchester at 7:15am sharp from First Parish in Watertown, 35 Church Street. Arrive at 7am to join a gathering circle before we leave. The bus will return to Watertown by 1pm. Wear purple and white, if you have it. Some signs will be provided for walkers. Sign up for the bus here. Walkers are also welcome to meet up with the WW4P team in Dorchester.
Why WW4P is important. The Mother’s Day Walk for Peace is sponsored by the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, a center for healing and teaching, supporting those who have lost loved ones to violence, and working with young people to teach the ways of peace. It was founded by Chaplain Clementina Chery, the mother of Louis D. Brown, who was killed by random gunfire in 1993. The Institute has earned a reputation as an innovative leader for peace.
Watertown Walks for Peace is sponsored by: World in Watertown; Watertown Citizens for Peace, Justice, and the Environment; First Parish of Watertown; Church of the Good Shepherd Watertown; and Progressive Watertown.
If you want to join the ABC Mailing List, please complete this form.
