SJHS Families:
A belated Happy New Year to you all! We've had a great kickoff to 2nd semester despite the recent sickness that's been going around. I'm looking forward to this new semester with all students, as well as see what 2025 itself holds. It's an exciting year for 8th grade students as they finish out their years of junior high and enter high school. Hard to believe we're in the final stretch, and promotion will be here before we know it. A promotion date will be set soon, and I will be communicating that with students and families once that is finalized.
Encourage your child to work hard academically and attend school regularly, since we'll continue to monitor progress and success up until the last day of school. Failing grades and poor attendance could prohibit a child's promotion to the next grade level. We are here to help in any way we can, so never hesitate to contact teachers and/or the office for any assistance.
As always, we appreciate your continued support in making our school a nurturing place for all of our students. Together, we can help them reach their fullest potential. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. Let's continue working together to ensure a successful and fulfilling school year for our students.

Josten's visited with the 8th grade class on Thursday, January 30. They have memorabilia available to purchase as they close the chapter on junior high and prepare to enter high school as the Class of 2029. See the attached order form that's due by Friday, February 14. Order forms can also be picked up in Mr. Peterson's classroom, and if students missed the signing of their names for the shirt, that is available to be signed in his room, as well.
Mrs. Cearlock, high school guidance counselor, will be around to speak with 8th graders about enrolling in high school classes on Tuesday, February 11 for the 2025-2026 school year during their scheduled Social Studies class period. Expect your son/daughter to come home with high school course descriptions and details on how to register/sign up for classes, as well as other pertinent information.
Students must be able to login into their Student Skyward account during Mrs. Cearlock's visit, so please help ensure that they are aware of their login information before the scheduled meeting; if you or your student doesn't know his/her login information, please have them let a teacher or the office know, and we'll be able to retrieve that information for you/them.
