3rd Annual Educator of the Year Ceremony
Congratulations to each of our Lake County Regional Office of Education's Educator of the Year nominees! This past week, nominees attended the Educator of the Year ceremony at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Grayslake. The ceremony provides an opportunity to recognize teachers, support staff and administrators who strive to provide great experiences for our students each day.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week
During Teacher Appreciation Week, we honored the educators whose passion, dedication, and tireless efforts shape the future of our world. Their commitment to nurturing young minds leaves an indelible mark, inspiring lifelong learning and fostering a brighter tomorrow for generations to come.
On Monday, staff had a special popcorn treat from Highland Pop in downtown Zion (top), and on Friday, staff were able to rehydrate at water stations set up in staff work rooms (bottom).
Nurses and Health Aide Day
On Wednesday, we recognized and celebrated the invaluable contributions of our school nurses and health aides, whose compassion, expertise, and unwavering dedication to patient care uplift and heal countless lives. Their tireless efforts and selflessness embody the true essence of healthcare excellence.

1. Mrs. Wiltse’s West Wildcats take their mindfulness B.R.I.C.K.S event to Beulah Park School. They taught the 2nd graders strategies that will help improve their well-being.
2. Lakeview Elementary ended Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week with a great summertime meal grilled by Principal Kraemer.
3. On May 8, ZESD 6 celebrated the outstanding contributions of nurses and health aides. Their compassion and expertise uplift countless lives and embody healthcare excellence.
4. A mock legal trial was held at ZCMS Cafeteria on May 9. Students from both middle schools were present to watch the trial, which was presided over by guest judge Mayor Billy McKinney. Special guests included Lake County Superintendent Dr. Michael Karner and Lake County Assistant Superintendent Courtney Curry.
5. Families came together Friday morning in ZCMS’s cafeteria to celebrate the middle school’s last Student of the Month award recipients of the school year.
