COPPER CREEK BOBCAT BLAST
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2024

On Tuesday, April 8, 5th grade Copper Creek students Duke Forbes, Haley Frolich, and Eliza Ohlson, were recognized at the district board meeting for winning the District Battle of the Books competition. Our team will advance to the Regional Battle of the Books competition on May 7, 2025. Good luck to our team!
The Deer Valley Education Foundation (DVEF) sponsors Battle of the Books for Deer Valley School District students. The reading incentive program is open to students in fifth and sixth grades. Students read books and come together to demonstrate their abilities and test their knowledge of the books they read. Battle of the Books improves reading comprehension, builds vocabulary, and teaches teamwork and good sportsmanship. Join us next school year when students sign-up in August!

2025-2026 School Year News
We have some staffing changes for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. We are excited to share these updates as we continue to build a strong and supportive learning environment for all our students.
For the 2025-2026 school year, we will have:
- Three sections of 3rd grade.
- Four sections of 4th grade.
We are also pleased to announce that Mrs. Quinn will be moving up to 4th grade next year. We know her experience and dedication will be a wonderful asset to our 4th-grade team.
We are confident that these staffing adjustments will allow us to better meet the needs of our growing student population and provide an excellent educational experience for all.
DVUSD guidelines do not allow a specific teacher to be requested, but may allow parents to provide input on their child’s needs and the type of teacher that may best serve their child’s needs. It is our belief at Copper Creek that teachers and parents can provide the best education possible for our children by working together. The responsibility for assignment of students resides with the principal and teachers working together to place students in a learning environment that best meets the needs of the student. Also keep in mind that teachers may change grade levels and/or schools which also adjusts class placement. Therefore, providing detailed information regarding the preferred learning environment and your child’s needs is critical. If you have multiple children, you will need to fill out one form per child.
We will take the following information into consideration when placing your child with a classroom that best fits your child’s profile.
Form must be submitted by April 25, 2025 Any input provided after April 25 may not be considered due to scheduling timelines.
