Dear Parents,
Monday, August 26, 2024, you will be able to join your child for lunch! We understand how important it is to connect with your child during their school day, and we look forward to sharing this special time with you. In the meantime, we are dedicating time to establish routines and procedures.

Meet Our 2nd Grade Dream Team!
Art Club Interest Form Applications Due to Ms. C. by Friday, August 30th
Art Club applications are open to 5th Grade students who show a special interest in Art and are committed to putting in the extra time and effort to gain new skills and grow as artists.
The club will be capped at 20 students due to space and materials. I will accept the first 20 students who submit their signed permission slip. Parents will receive an email by September 13 confirming their studentβs admission into Art Club.
Art Club Information
- Students will meet 2 times per month on Wednesday mornings from 7:30-8:00 a.m.
- Activities will include projects that will be completed during meetings at school and asynchronous sketchbook assignments that will be done between meetings.
Students are expected to attend all meeting dates with exceptions for illness, doctor appointments, or other excused absences. Students must arrive on time at 7:30 a.m. After 3 tardies or unexcused absences, the student will be removed from Art Club to make space for someone on the waitlist.

3rd - 5th Grade Fit Club - Due August 30thπ
Calling all sailors that love to move! It is time to sign up for our Fitness Club. This program will take place on Monday afternoons from 3:25 - 4:15 p.m. There will be 3 sessions that will be 7 weeks long. These sessions are by grade. Please see the flyer attached for more information.

Gifted and Talented Referral Timeline: August 8th - September 27th
Does your child seem exceptionally bright and far more advanced when compared to peers? Consider referring your child for testing to see if he/she will qualify for the FBISD Gifted and Talented Program. FBISD is accepting GT referrals online from August 8th- September 27th. Please click the link below to refer your child.
All referrals must be submitted online by 9/27/2024.
Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications
We encourage all families to complete the online Free and Reduced-Price Meals application online at, www.schoolcafe.com/fbisd.
Submitting your online meal application can do more than just provide access to Free and Reduced-Price meals. If you qualify, you may also qualify for programs with additional benefits!

Dismissal Reminders
When It Rains
If it is lightly raining, students will be released at 3:25 p.m. If there is heavy rain, thunder and/or lightning, we will not release students until it is safe to do so. Please do not congregate at the exterior doors.
Late Pick-Ups
School hours are 8:05 a.m. - 3:25 p.m. After school dismissal is usually over by 3:45 p.m. If you are late, park and come into the building to sign out your child(ren).
Dismissal Changes
Please send dismissal change requests to the attendance clerk at
carrie.sharp@fortbendisd.gov before 2:00 p.m. There will be no exceptions. We will not release your child(ren) after 3:00 p.m. due to our dismissal process.
Car Rider Tags MUST BE DISPLAYED During Pick-Up
***Students will not be sent to a cone if the person picking them up does not have a tag.***
Display your child's car rider tag in your windshield during dismissal. If the assigned car rider tag is not displayed, you will be asked to park and report to the front office with a valid ID. You may request extra car rider tags at the front office.
All students are assigned a car rider number even if they never use the car rider line at dismissal.
