M.V. Families,
Congratulations to our students who went to the Vista Track Meet. Students had a great time and pushed themselves hard despite the cold and rainy weather.
Open House is scheduled for May 29th. We hope to see you there! Below is the schedule:
- Staff Introductions on stage: 5:00-5:15 p.m.
- Presentation: 5:15-5:30
- Classroom Visits: 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Exciting news! Our school library has installed a book vending machine. Click the link to watch the unveiling video.
We are also gearing up for Career Day on May 3rd and have invited several professionals to speak to our students. We are encouraging students to dress up in future career of interest. Also, yearbooks are now on sale! See flyer below for details!

Parent Volunteers Needed for School Site Council and Parent Faculty Association!
We are looking for parent volunteers to serve on our School Site Council and Parent Faculty Association for the 24-25 school year! We don't need experts, just passionate parents excited to help make our school the best place it can be!
School Site Council meets monthly to review school data and make decisions about school programs. If you like to dig into data and get a sneak peek behind the scenes of the school's inner workings, SSC is for you. Parent Faculty Association meets monthly to plan for school events and fundraisers.
Please indicate your interest by filling out the form below. We will hold an election and place your name on the ballot. Nominations are due by May 15, 2024, and elections will be held the following week. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you!
State Testing in Grades 3-6
State CAASPP testing in grades 3-6 is approaching. Testing will begin on May 6th. Please make sure that your child is on time and in school on these days.
3-6 CAASPP May 6-19th
May 6th - 10th 3-6 ELA CAASPP
May 13th - 17th 3-6 Math CAASPP
May 20th-24th 5th Grade Science
To help your child experience success please talk with your child about the importance of the exam and follow these suggestions.
Make sure your child gets a good night sleep.
Eat a healthy breakfast that includes protein.
Consider sending your child with a healthy snack such as string cheese or yogurt.
Make sure your child arrives to school on time. Get things ready the night before to avoid conflicts
when trying to get to school.
A positive mindset is important, so give your child some encouraging words and remind your child to closely read the passages and questions.
Mountain View's Volunteer of the Year
Mirna Bravo-Wilson, leading the Mountain View PFA as president, will be honored at the upcoming board meeting as the Volunteer of the Year for Mountain View. Mirna has taken on multiple roles within our PFA, and we are grateful for her contributions. As a parent of three Mustangs, she has played a crucial part in volunteering while organizing various school events, including Trunk or Treats, Movie Nights, Dances, Penny Wars, Fundraisers, school decorations, and more. We deeply appreciate Mirna's ongoing commitment to our school community every single day!
Lunch Hero Day- May 3rd
Lunch Hero Day is celebrated on May 3rd. Ms. Kim and Ms. Sarina have been positive energies for our students every day to make the lunch experience fun. Please feel free to have your students recognize our Mountain View lunch heroes on this day!
