Mustang Minutes
Sharing our Nashua + Mustang PRIDE
December 6 2024
Good afternoon McCarthy Mustangs!
Report cards release on Monday, December 9th. Please be sure to review your child's progress and reach out with any questions or concerns. We encourage you to celebrate their achievements and discuss areas for growth as we move into the next semester.Report cards for Trimester 1 will be available on the Aspen portal on December 9. Be sure to check your Aspen Family Portal for updates. If you need assistance accessing your portal, please contact the main office.
A few weeks ago, our 8th grade students kicked off an exciting Entrepreneurial Fair Project, where they are creating holiday-themed, non-edible DIY products to sell as part of a fundraiser. The fair will take place during the school day on December 11 from 8:30-11:30 a.m., and we invite families to join us and support the students' hard work. This project blends lessons from math, business, art, and communication, giving students a hands-on, interdisciplinary experience as they learn to create, market, and sell their products. It’s a great opportunity to see their creativity and entrepreneurial skills in action!
We will have an early release on Wednesday, December 13th. Students will be dismissed at [insert time]. Please note there will be no after-school activities on this day. Students have grab-and-go lunches - please be sure that your students have rides and make the bus!
Student Events and Updates
Please confirm with your child that they are staying after school with a staff member. The main office closes by 4pm, and children need a late pass to get on the bus from a staff member. We do not allow children to stay after and ride the late bus if they do not have a reason to be at MMS after the last bell!
In collaboration with the Giving Tree initiative, Ms. Lafontaine and Club Phenomenon will be collecting stocking stuffers for children and teens in need. The stockings will be stuffed on Friday, December 20th, after school. Club members will be contributing a few items for each stocking, but additional donations from the school community are greatly appreciated. You can help by donating the following:
- Small toys
- Candy
- Hygiene products
- Gift cards
- Other small stocking-sized items for children and teens (ages 18 months to 16 years old). We especially need donations for older children, as they are often in shorter supply.
Collection boxes will be available in each team wing, with an additional box in the Staff mailroom. The boxes will be placed in the common spaces starting today, and donations will be accepted until December 20th. We encourage everyone to contribute to this holiday giving effort!
